RE: 1965 Beaumont Hard top L79 Canadian version of GTO (lol)

I apologize for posting the 65 Beaumont for sale cry

It is on consignment in the U.S.

It is on a Internet site...

I was excited it had been re-priced from 89,995 to 63,995

Its not unusual for "potential buyers" and "lookers" to question the price point....

I guess if we could afford to buy a big dollar car....  we could afford to correct any little imperfection.....

I will not post any more cars "for sale"  (on this site)

Well first of all the Pearl White L79 Beaumont is my wife Susie's car.  When I had it restored for her we had both L79 Beaumonts and they were both Regal Red. Sense I was going to restore my car to original factory condition which I did, she decided to have her car restored to the way she wanted.  Thus Regal Red changed to Pearl White ,  White Interior changed to red to match White exterior, after market stereo added along with the headers, Craiger Wheels & red line tires because that's what she wanted . As far as trunk being spatter painted and fire wall being Satan Black we didn't think a Pearl White trunk & fire wall would be appropriate sense the original color was changed.  The fire wall tag was removed with the original red paint on it to let people know the original car was regal Red and then replaced after the fire wall was painted the Made In Canada door tag was also removed and the replaced after door jams were repainted. The 65 SS Chevelle rocker Molding was used because NO 65 SD side molding could be found at the time of the restoration, it took me 5 years to find the side molding for my L79 SD.

The original 12 bolt was blown when the car was raced at the St Thomas Dragway  by original owner Stuie Pheu back in the day and then replaced with a 10 bolt I had, because we drove this car to all the Car Shows we attended.  This Car was only trailered once and that was the World of Wheels in Toronto in March with snow on the ground By the way we took 1ST in our Class. This car is no Trailer Queen it was driven to all the other shows we attended which were in Canada, Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia Florida, Indiana, and Illinois and people were amazed that we drove such a Rare Care to all the Shows.

This car was as people would say a basket case barn find from Chatham Ontario.  The car was appraised by R & M when it was at the Meadow Brook Concourse De Elegance in 2006 at 3 figures because of its documentation & Rarity by GM of Canada.  I know its advertised as a Canadian GTO even though its own GM brand line Acadian Beaumot and not really a Pontiac. But because of the similarities with Pontiac Grill, Taillights, Interior  I can see how people in the US could mistake them as Pontiac's.  Some people also call them a customized Chevelle from Canada.  The price you have to pay for having such a unique Car.

Susie & I are at the age where we would rather sell her Rare L79  Beaumont so we could have some extra money for our bucket list. My all Original Regal Red with Black interior L79 Beaumont is also for Sale. It came in 2nd place at the Cobble Beach Concourse De Elegance in 2013, but we will be keeping our 65 Acadian Beaumont SD Convertible which I am restoring into a cloned Evening Orchard L79 Car.

Hope this answers all the questions about Susie's Car if not  feel free to ask more.

I am hoping there will be some changes to what is allowed and what is not allowed as far as posts in the classifieds as well as possibly the Kijiji posts as well. It appear it's time.

This is how posting happens on another car site I read on...

I am not saying this is the rule here, I'm just throwing this out to show it's a problem all over, and to show how one site handled it.

Stay out of the Classifieds, even if you think that your 'expert advice' is needed here.

All of you experts that think you're doing the hobby a service by analyzing, correcting, educating and generally trying to 'Father' the classifieds, MUST refrain from doing so.

The abuse of sellers in this format must end. If a particular seller engages in repeated bad business practices here on ******, we have a forum for that.

Not cool anymore.

Leave the sellers alone, keep your 'helpful advice' to yourself and out of their ad space.

Don't say their stuff is too expensive right there in their ad.

Don't say that you sold the same thing for much less a while back.

Don't inform them about current market conditions.

Don't try to sell your car or parts in their ad thread! That's the lowest you can get!

If you feel the need to communicate with the seller, just PM him.

We consider this a common courtesy for the posting member, the readers and the management of the PY Forums.

Effective immediately, we will strictly be enforcing this long standing policy. Members who disregard, forget, can't help themselves etc. will be immediately suspended. Repeat offenders run the risk of being permanently removed from the PY Forums community.

We encourage all readers to click on the 'ALERT' button in the topic where you see this policy being disregarded. It will help to fix classifieds much quicker as the moderators simply can't read every classified ad.

I can't take credit for writing that, it's copied and pasted from another site, but I'm hoping some of that will be incorporated in to the rules here.

Its good to see that there is going to be some rules.I haven't been on the site because it started to be a joke on all the comments that some members were saying. MY friend told me to look at the site because he seen the remarks about my car When i seen some of the comments that some members from here and 2 door post had to say about my car.Didn't surprise me. The price of my car Is to high anything is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it and you get what you pay for if you want to pay cheap for a car then you get what you get.

The one member just had to try to prove that the rear trim wasn't original another member said its alot of money for a bare car (the car is full of options) and maybe i will lower the price by $3,000 because he thinks the trim isn.t original. The only way anyone can tell if that trim wasn't original is if someone seen if coming off the line it wasn't uncommon for parts to get switched on the line because of supply issues.Unless some one is going to put up the cash and is gong to buy what ever you are selling then people should keep there negitive comments to them selves unless their paying for it. No one should judge any one on what they have or own.

About time the picking apart of peoples cars is put to a end. I have been upset more that once when I read what is said about cars for sale. But it would figure its the one time I put in my two cents. As I stated all ready I am no expert on these cars I was just wondering why the tags had been removed sorry if I offended Susie or Joe by asking.

I think it would be a shame to bullied into not posting cars FROM OTHER SITES. These forums should be for the free flow of information and thoughts as long as we all follow the rules about keeping them in good taste. I for one would never hijack a members classified ad and for that I agree - hands off those ads with the editorial comments. Postings from other internet sources should be fair game. Who knows, the stream of thought might help a potential buyer make up their mind to pull the trigger on a deal and maybe negotiate the price.

just my opinion...

I'll start a new thread for censorship discussion so we don't mess up the intent of the original post any further!
