A stratobench in a what?????

Finally got around to modifying and installing my strato bench in my 1964 chevelle station wagon

my wagon has a factory 4way power bench,  but i really liked the look of chris'(beaumontwagon) strato bench in his car.

I had this one out of a 2dr 67 american grand prix, junk yard find a few years back,

so its a 2dr one, so it folds flat,  perfect for a wagon hauler.

Problem,  seat tracks are narrower and longer on a stratobench compared to my chevelle power tracks.

modified the cagenuts on the strato to accept the power tracks,  then cut a factory correct 4way switch control in the strato side plate

did some quick cleaning and freshening, and it fits great and comfy,  will recover next year as long as i am happy with the comfort level driving all summer,  it was even factory black to bend in with my interior.

Dave, I love it! Isn't that just the coolest looking, comfiest factory seat ever???

However, my worst fears have become reality. Now that you and Chris have let the secret out, A body guys throughout the universe are going to be stripping B bodies of seats for their cars!

Seriously, that looks great. I'm itching to stop in and see it.

There's been rumblings of a coffee night being needed in the next couple of weeks...

It looks like it came from the factory. I really like those strato bench's.  I just do not under stand why they were not offered in Beaumont and chevelle's.

They made a feeble attempt in the Cutlass and Skylark (and maybe even Lemans?) with a rather plain bench with a fold down armrest. Right idea but it sure never had the comfort and sex appeal this seat has.

Looking Good there Dave!

Steve, I'm sure you could make one fit, we put the front seat from a 90's gm fullsize pick up, which I'm sure would be bigger, in my Dad's 59 truck no problem. Fit perfectly.

Glad you made it fit and it all worked out for you-talk about UBER cool.I love that wagon of yours-did from the first day I saw it-glad you kept it.Norm was in a couple of weeks ago and stated he had helped you put in a new headliner too!! Good to see progress moving forward-let me know how you like the seat once our darn never ending winter is over.If it ever does!! By the way do you think I love wagons!! LOL
