There is a small town in eastern Alberta called Killam. Not sure if it is still there but years ago the first sign coming into town was Drive carefully, avoid accidents and the very next sign was the name of the town Killam.

 Yup, that sign was there in 73 when I worked in Holberg. I forget for sure now, but I believe it had already been there 5 or 6 years at that point. It's kind of a North Island icon.

Not a road sign but ... sign on the door to the pool at a hotel in California. Apparently it is a regulatory requirement.

No pictures but I used to have a highway sign just beyond My driveway, Cemetary Road, it had a yellow Dead End sign on the same post.

The next sign may be a bit iffy but since this doctor is still practicing in St Johns, NL, you can google him so its not a tasteless made up thing. I was rushing to a dentist appointment and got off at the wrong floor, went to my dentists door but the sign said Dr. FN Kum, obstetrician and gynaecologist.

Then there is the restaurant near North Sydney, NS, they operate A&K Lick A Chick and Lick A Treat. Still in business since the 60s or 70s, got an honourable mention in Playboy After Hours in the 70s, I saw it in 1973 on my way to The Rock.

 A little tamer, but still an old time chicken chain. I always liked them better than Cluck N' Chuck (KFC).
