I've read about it in some of the US Pontiac publications.

Supposedly Knafel had serious clout with Pontiac, at least according to him in one of the interviews I read.

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong but I believe they had the rights to the "Tin Indian" name at one point?

Yes, I've seen one. Dan Jensen, the guy that is responsible for the Pure Stock Muscle Car Drags in Stanton, Michigan every year had or has one. I can't recall the production numbers, as it was quite a few years ago that I talked with him about it, but there weren't many. Here are the pictures I have of it...

Can you imagine how much fun that would be at a parts store? "Yeah, I need XXXX for a 1970 Pontiac Magnum" *blank stares all around*

Car is advertising is a 2 dr. sedan but Jansen's car is a hardtop. Never knew a Tempest came in hardtop model. We had a 70 Tempest 2dr sedan econo model that flew with a Pontiac 350 so I am sure a 400 would be muscular.

There was a mid year T37 Tempest hardtop model.

I stand corrected. Every year the memory gets a little fuzzier! Thanks for setting the record straight!
