That is a neat car, certainly one you dont see around anymore. 1968 was the year AMC switched to those exclusive flush door handles. For V8s they used a 290, 343 or 390. The 290 became the 304 for 1970 while the 343 became the 360. The 401 came out for 71. That car stayed around through 1978 as the Matador. Despite the dated design, Motor Trend gave a 1976 Matador wagon high marks.
