Need a new gas tank - YIKES!!!!

:eek......came out to find a large pool of gas and a drip/drip leak under the 63,
in the garage attached to the house........:eek:eek:eek
Just filled it up ($1.49/litre) ....:doh.... earlier for a long cruise on Sunday.........
Opened the electric garage doors slowly by hand and put a plastic pan under the drip and then
siphoned off about a 1/4 tank and the leak stopped.........:clap
Any suggestions on gas tanks...........Show Cars in Minnesota sells one made in Canada for about

1/2 the price of what I can buy it here (go figure) .......:(........how about this one from Summit.....:deal

I found the hose between the fuel filler pipe and tank was rotted so if I had more than 3/4 in the fuel tank it tended to drip. But I also lost fuel during fill ups. Just an idea.

If it is your gas tank, which is usually where the two halves meet. It is generally more cost effective to have the tank epoxy coat sealed. There is an outfit in Toronto (Etobicoke) but that may be too far for you to travel. They are are called RENU. Good luck. George.

For about the same price as a cleaning and coating, you could buy a brand new, made in Canada Spectra Premium tank.

Your local Carquest or any good parts house can get you one.

Well I decided to do some investigating here as maybe just maybe I don't have a rust hole....:rub
Took off some of the undercoat and the tank looks great.......and then I see the problem.......
I plugged the return line but did not clamp it.....:cuss........you can see the stain from the gas leak
and it is right at the unclamped hose.........guess all fill ups are not equal ......:coffee
In a rush to get the car out I have not plumbed the return line but everything seems to run fine,
thanx to everyone for your help..........:clap
:cheers
