Got a chance to see Chris Pointon's beautiful 1965 Chevelle 2 door post car yesterday at the Chesley Ontario car show. The fit and finish on this car is amazing.
Must be hard to choose which car to cruise with, the Acadian or the Chevelle. Great job Chris.
I'll bet its nice... He has all the nice toys... When I go to visit him, I always take a car cover,(to hide my car) cause his car is always 999.9 out of 1000
Been many decades, since I went through Chesley Ontario.
I grew up on a farm, between Wingham & Teeswater, ON.
Seen many a local drive-ins...re. Hanover & Harriston / back in the early 1970's.
When I was 16 y/o, Dad picked us out a 1966 Plymouth Valiant 4 door (for twin brother & I)...not exactly a chick magnet.
- biggest upgrade to car, was the installation of an 8 track tape player (purchased from Canadian Tire)
- buying mostly K-Tel tapes, and soon found they had to be propped with a cigarette paper match, to keep playing tunes
A year later, a co-worker was selling his 1965 Chevelle 2 door post, 6 cylinder...almost rust free.
Had a very solid body wearing original Danube dark blue paint...so I snapped it up, and fell in love with the A bodies.
- had it one week, drove to Exeter Speed Shop / bought 4 Cragers, F70/G60's white letter tires and rear air shocks for tire clearance
^^^^ It did turned heads.
- even had a 1967 Corvette (in London) and a 1970 Cuda (in Listowel) want to race my Chevelle between stop lights...lol
As you can see, I have a real soft spot for the 1965 Chevelle 2 door post model.
And Chris Pointon's one, sounds totally awesome - love to see a photo or 2, if available.
Thanks for the kind words and congrats on your award, your Beaumont is very deserving! My Acadian has taken a rest while I get the final bugs out of the Chevelle but should be out for the weekend. Larry there are pics on here of the Chevelle under Bought a 1965 Chevelle 300
