'69 Full-Size Glovebox Door Differences?

Besides where they are made, biggrin what is the differences between a US made glovebox door and a Canadian made door? Is the latch different too? When I gutted the interior of the 2+2 I had an excellent US dash that I installed. I used the Canadian door and latch, but had to shim the latch so the door would close in further. Not ideal. Anyone know if I need an American door AND latch?

The doors and striker plates are different between 69 & 70.  On 69, the button is towards the ashtray (and a pushbutton if I recall) whereas on a 70 the knob is more towards the middle of the door.   I just did the modification on a 69 dash to be used in a 70, see the 69 & 70 photo's below.   69 on has the big square hole, 70 has the metal bar as the striker.

To modify a 69 to a 70, I remove the striker, then use a dremel tool to notch the lip so the 70 striker plate can screw in place.  The screws get removed to mount the glove box, then re-inserted.

Sorry Rob, I just read your post a little closer.   I was thinking you've possibly installed a 70 dash in your 69.   I know 70 glove box doors are the same, as I've installed US Pontiac dashes in a couple Cdn cars, including modifying a 69 dash to be used in a 70.  In both cases, I reused the Canadian door.

I really don't see that the 69 glove box doors would be different between US & Cdn cars.
