I posted Wayne's car on our Canadian Poncho Facebook page. A fellow from Arkansas asked "What's a Beaumont?". Another fellow had this great response:
"What, you ask, is a Beaumont? Well, the story goes something like this ... The Spirit Gods looked down upon the earth and marveled at man's advancements in the automotive world. The Gods decided to have a competition to see who could design the most Beautiful example of automotive artistry, and Voila ... the Beaumont was created! And the Gods again looked upon the earth, to choose a worthy custodian for their creation, and they bestowed upon the Canadian people this very honor, to which they hold sacred to this very day. :) "
Thanks for all the Congrat's and comments and Todd thank you for featuring my car! This site is really the best;
It is wonderful as a resource and it is also very entertaining. Through the site I have met some members in person and communicated with others, all have been very friendly and helpful.
I hope to be a worthy custodian, joining the ranks of fellow C.P. Members who have cared for these Beaumonts.
68sd396rag and Fake68 likely both have more stories about it from when Steve had it! He's a member here too but I can't recall how to spell his user id. Mikkelsen or Mikkelson maybe?

I recall lending it to my then girlfriend while I did something with her car - she said someone left a phone # on the wiper blade (she put the note in the console) it went something like ' nice car here is my # if you want to talk sometime' I gave the number a call - the guy on the other end seemed very surprised that a Male called him ! guess it wasn't the car he wanted to talk about ! anyway, miss that car !

Wayne, ...what's the story behind the front Expo license plate? Was this one of the cars GM showcased during that event?
Not that I'm aware, unfortunately. The car was purchased in Winnipeg on 28th Feb.1967 couple of months before the opening Ceremonies at Expo 27th April that year. Plate came with the car when I got it. I like the connection to Canada and 67.

I have collected license plates since I was a kid, when I sold the car along with the documentation, pictures and records that I had I included the Expo license plate and also a Manitoba plate with the little metal 67 that clipped into the plate - I also included a real nice pair of Ontario 1967 Confederation license plates
Original owner in Winnipeg purchased it to pull a camper trailer. Car was spotted by a back lane cruiser through a 1/2" wide opening in the fence... at the perfect angle you could catch a glimpse of the front fender sticking out from the front of the guys garage. No idea how this dude saw it but he was a sketchy one... so one guy tells one guy who tells Steve then Steve rolls by the house to show me. That day Steve knocked on the door and got a price, think it was $2500 (not bad at the time but not cheap for bone stock... remember at that time it was all about headers and fat tires). Car was ABSOLUTELY original except trailer hitch. Deal done! Very cool car. The original owner knew it was unique but didn't seem like a real gearhead by any means. I think Steve had it for a couple years.
Headrests and TH400 !!!
It may have participated in some of the illicit Murray Road and Roblin Blvd activities back in the day... can't confirm or deny as I was never there... HEE HEE!

I got the documents and records, but only the Expo plate. Other plates must have been pawned for Beer n' Cigs. LOL
Very beautiful car. A 1967 is my favorite Beaumont although I would take any year in the condition your car is in.First year for front disc brakes and the turbo 400 make it vastly improved over a 66 but the 66 has a slightly cleaner look. Congratulations on owing a feature car and preserving a piece of Canadian automotive history.

As I recall Steve had told me that the original owner was 80 or more and had past away and that the son had sold it - I recall someone bought it and had a local GM dealer paint it then sold it to Steve - Steve has since corrected that storey to me that he had bought it from the original owner. I had a 1986 Auto Trader ad for $3800 ( but I think that was after it was painted) then I had a 1992 or 1993 Auto Trader ad for 11,000 or maybe 12,000 - Steve had sold it to someone in Ontario - that person (dealer) had made an insurance claim ? I bought it from a dealer who purchased it at the PHH Auction in Hamilton which was usually for repossessions or insurance claims - The Stoney Creek dealer I bought it from had it at the spring Waterdown meet May 1994 where I bought it - Most of the history was lucky - I got to talk to Steve because John Landuct who I sold the 67 SD to that Mark has now was talking to Steve about parts - The connection came when Steve mentioned a custom made radiator which John noticed in my car along with the GM vintage docs that showed it came from Winterpeg - anyway my contact to Steve was at the Library -- I owned the car from 1994 to 2001 my all time favorite car (and I had many) I knew when I sold it that I would be sorry - shoulda/coulda/woulda
Headrest were a nice option - it even had factory block heaters ! There was a factory tachometer in it but not on the documents and the clock was not moved to the console so I assumed someone/dealer added the tach
I'm going to miss seeing this months feature car in the banner!
