RE: My Wifes project - 64 Parisienne Safari 327

Started moving forward. Doing it a bit backwards but situation really didnt allow for us to pull the engine but we are working around it. Painted the back of the fire wall with the tranny out and will work around the other stuff. but none the less finally some moving forward progress it seems.

I love those 327 valve covers. Mike, have you checked the motor internally in any way. Do you know what kind of shape the motor is in or are you just going to take a chance. Cheers. George

We have looked inside as far as we can go with the inspection camera. Looks real clean. Runs like a top no noise. Not running hot. Let it run for the better part of an hour during tests and seems to be good. Another reason we are not pulling it. If it's not up to snuff we have another to replace it with. They fellow that sold us the car has been right on the nose hones so far so a big part of it is going by his word. Keeping in mind it's a used car. We are looking at doing it right but need to budget bumpers and complete interior into the equation so hopefully no regrets.

Nice surprise for the engine in the wagon... we had a fellow who is a gm engine buff check our numbers and looks to be a 327 325 hp vette engine in there. 1967 or 1968. Date code was difficult to make out for sure he said. Made the Mrs quite happy because the impala is on a 300 horse and the convertible a 250.

I've always loved that colour, or colours like that I guess. I don't know what your exact paint code/colour is.

That would be my father or pontitrac the fellow giving me a hard time about my tool box. The green tarp is making the paint look more green. The colour is "blue rasberry metalic" or very close to the aqua colour that was used in 64 just a bit richer

Got to untape today and get a good look at the colour without the reflection of the green tarps. We are very pleased with the colour choice and outcome

That is a beautiful colour. It's even richer than it looked in those earlier pictures.

so we have been working away on little things and not much photo worthy things. But we have got our parts in from the USA and are back under way with some of the bigger things that make it feel like we are getting somewhere again. We have ripped apart the front end and are getting things cleaned up and getting ready to add the disc brakes.

16.jpg

15.jpg

we noticed these 3 clips on each drum wondering if they are the original assembly line clips to keep the drums from falling off at the factory. we decided to remove the drums by the hub to save these clips since we are using new hubs in the conversion anyways.

18.jpg

17.jpg

its coming along. we hope to be starting to put the front end back together in a week or so. the kit does require a minor mod for 14" rims application which we are doing so we will have to see how that goes. more to come soon!

I agree     my wife sat in a old car of mine once...

She never set foot in the Grande Parisienee, or the Strato Chief, or the Ventura, or the Beaumont, or the Lemans or the Trans Am and on and on

More progress on the wagon. Getting close to brakes. Booster and master installed. Just waiting on the control arms to come back with the new bushings and front end goes together. Then we install the disc brake kit.
