Mike, here is a far better solution. Put a PERTRONIX electronic conversion in the stock distributor. You will never regret it brother. Cheers. George

we have done this in the impala and convertible and agree its great we love it. I am not sure we will be able to use the stock distributor in this application with the plans of fuel injection. but if we can for sure we will as its so much smaller than the HEI

Its ALIVE! without much aggravation this sleeping giant roared.... Like a kitten. The distributor was faulty in every way possible so I took a spare points one first before HEI and we got spark. Then we added fuel and it ran. We shut it down and did an oil change and tune up and let it run. Here she is...

We got confirmation today that we will be able to buy everything for the interior including proper Pontiac pattern seats in aqua. The seats are being made based on our samples so we have the option of custom. we are thinking of putting cloth inserts into the seats so they are a bit more comfy in the summer heat. We have to get the door panels dyed and re place the carpet on them.

does anyone have pics of 64 Pontiacs with cloth inserts in the seats? we would love to see some. I will post cloth samples when the arrive

Great pictures Darryl. Thanks. They are what we figured they would look like. Had no idea about pattern. We will see what comes in the mail.

Today we tinkered away in the shop mostly cleaning things up and sorting through junk to make life easy for work next week. We did get the rear power glass to go down. Needs a motor as it tired but it works which is great. We located a rust free gate and hinges and have to go pick them up next week. We will also be picking up the new dual master and disc brake proportioning valve at the same time. Then the fun really begins.

today my step dad and i went bush whacking at McLean's today and found this... we cut it at the pillars and rear cross-member and mother nature did the rest for us. we got it home and trimmed it to the size we want. we had pulled about 12lbs worth of body filler from this panel where it had been hit and filled in.

Keep up the good work! I've been working on my 64 Safari lately as well, so this is very inspiring!

Hopefully you have all the tail light extension housing parts. They're not easy to find!

Thanks. You have a nice looking wagon also. Next week we go nuts on it and go at it with the wrenches. We are tearing the front clip apart and rebuilding it all. Off to the states saturday to pickup our rust free tailgate and new hinges. More pics to come soon.

Allison and Mike, congrats on getting that sweet 327 to purrrrrrrrrr. It is great to see a hands on lady working on her car and enjoying it too. God bless you folks for keeping that sweet 64 original looking. Continued good luck on your 64 wagon resto. Cheers. George

Thanks George... we started getting our hands dirty today. Pulled out the old transmission and are getting ready to put in a 700R4.

Random car on hoist picture... just a good photo op of an old poncho.

The new colour. Blue Raspberry metallic!!! have not decided on the white for the roof. My wife is not sure if she wants a bright white or a off white... I think the ermine white would be perfect myself.

My Wifes project - 64 Parisienne Safari 327

well today was a great day. Long but great. We took off to Niagara Falls NY at 6:00 am and went to go get some goodies we ordered (Rust free tailgate and new disc brake dual master cylinder) We stopped in at Princess Auto and bought a steel trailer fender that will be the new foundation for the spare tire well.

gate.jpg

We Then got on putting in the 700R4 and new drive shaft. After not much aggravation we had it in and buttoned up. Still no brakes so My Step dad Wayne and my friend Howie followed me around with wheel chalks. My wife was thrilled today to have been part of hoisting up and installing the transmission with us.

More to come shortly... Off to get a hood for it tomorrow.

So thrilled front clip is removed and we are going to start cleaning things up there. Does anyone know or can tell me how to nicely release the front windshield trim? Have a pic of the correct tool I need?

I'll post some pics when it it up on the lift next. Went well all in all. The Driveshaft shortened and a heavy duty polyurethane carrier bearing is required. And a custom (can buy them too) tubular crossmember installed.

We polished up some of the nice ermine white on the firewall and my wife is sold on the colour so the roof will be ermine white
