Anyone know if a 62 Parisienne dash pad will fit some of the American models, such as Catalina?
I'm flogging mine to death up here, but nobody seems to need one right now, so I thought I might try marketing it into the States. Only worth doing if it fits. I remember some years back I sold a 62 Parisienne steering wheel down south, and they aren't quite the same.
The spokes are on a slightly different angle, so it pays to check.
The 62 Parisienne pad will not fit a 62 Catalina etc. The die cast dash bezel (that holds the speedo etc) is a different shape and the opening in the dash is different. I am currently converting my Parisienne to a Catalina Super Duty replica and purchased the Catalina die cast dash bezel and then trimmed the sheet metal of the dash to allow it to fit. I also purchased a 62 Catalina dash pad, very different from the Parisienne. It looks like the Canadian cars used a pad that would fit a 61.
The photos aren't the best, but here is one of the 62 Catalina die cast dash insert with the padded dash pad attached. The steering column is completely different and mounts differently to the dash. The steering column components on a Canadian car are mostly Chevy while the US cars are their own. hope this helps. The dash openings are different, US on the left, Canadian on the right.

Thanks Jurassic. Looks like I may be stuck with this dash pad till the day I die.
On the other hand, it looks quite nice stretched out across the top of my bookshelf units.
Might be easier for me to find another 62 Parisienne project to use up all my extra parts. An opportunity to buy.
