Clunk in drivetrain and Gear shift won't go into Drive

Hi Guys,

i was wondering if anyone could help me, I have 1972 LeMans Luxury with a 400 small block chevy, and a TH350 transmission. The motor came from a 74 full size chevy, not sure about the tranny. I installed a new factory trans crossmember yesterday, because the pdevious owner(s) installed the wrong one, looks like an F-body one. Anyways I also put on a new trans mount as well, it's from pro thane and says it's for a TH350. Once I installed everything I started the car and put it in reverse no problem, but as I backed up I could hear a clunking sound every time the car moved. Also when I tried to put the car in Drive it would not go past Neutral, like something was binding. I didn't want to force it and damage something. Had no trouble before with the old crossmember. haven't had a chance to get back under the car and see if anything is binding/jamed. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

You are going to have to check underneath. Sounds like maybe the yoke hitting the crossmember. And possibly the shift arm as well. If all was good before.
