ok so tinkering away on the 49 fleetleader as well as the 54.So on the 49 I have noticed someone has done some creative wiring from the dash to the rear taillights using an electrical cord.I thought maybe the mice had got to the original wires going up over the roof so they had just bypassed them to get the taillights working.Maybe a simple fix, maybe not.But since I have the car all apart I thought maybe a new wiring harness would be nice.I was looking on nationalchevy association the other day and they list a complete harness for the 49 chevy styleline which is essentially the same as mine. For 600.00 maybe a good investment. Then I was thinking would the u.scar run a different motor than my 239 and would the harness not work?any ideas?
I've dealt with national chevy, only part so far that 'didn't fit my 52 Pontiac was the glove box cardboard. I re - wired my car frt.to back. but used a E-Z wiring kit!!! My torpedo back is "modified" so this fit the bill, I would 'guess' that their harness would work with a few changes in dash connections for gauges etc. but "pricey compared to E-Z kit. pete

It's maybe too late, but the rear portion of our Canadian Pontiac are the same as chevy, for the front is another story. Front harness for Chevy should not be used.
