I spoke with the fellow last night, haven't seen the car but he did say it was not running and in pieces "at the moment"....he's not wanting to part it out though.

I think the new thing for people is they say"if you spend 7 k on it ,it will be worth 20!. I say,"why don't you do it then". And not only that who if anyone is  going to pay 20 for it and for 20 k theres alot more  options. In all fairness, how does an owner of a car have the idea that they share in what a value of a car is worth when completed. If I'm spending time and money on fixing a car, whatever I can make is mine. Sellers want that margin. And as you see with many cars, that have been for sale forever and ever, they just don't sell. There is a 65 Beaumont custom that is real nice with a 6 cylinder for 15k locally, wonderful car, come on......If I spent 10K on it,what are my chances of getting 25k back, absolutely none. Some of these sellers need to pull their heads out of you know where!!!!!!!!! Like women who think their too nice, after a sniff you just move on.  I'd rather be with someone with a personality than a good lookin dumby............but thats just me

There seems to be a demand for these early 60s Beaumonts right now. There has been 2 or 3 wanted ads in the last couple of months for these. Lefty will have to put a sign in his window for a quick sale.

Reminds me of my favorite Charlton Heston line.............................Forgive them father.........For they no not what they do..............guess thats why no one buys them.I think the demand is in reading the add. They don't sell.

I'm one of those guys with the ads looking for an Acadian (or a Nova). I'd like to keep it under 20k and have checked out many leads and looked at as many cars as I can get to. So far what I've seen is there are a lot of overpriced rusty cars out there....

Did you check out the 63 convertible in Dawson Creek? Will see if I can find a link. Think I got it. Hope link works. Looks all there and clean.

Hey Lefty, I think you might be missing a zero off your numbers...

Yes it is the same car, talked to the new owner a while ago. I found an older thread about this car a while after it sold. Thanks to Lefty's pictures I knew it was the same car. Funny thing was I was actually trying to see if I could find this car after it left Vancouver but by the time I'd found it I'd read the thread and realized it was not what I wanted. Really want a Acadian or Nova but trying to find as rust free as possible, tough hunt!

Yes, those first gens are sure prone to rust and you have to be so careful on the converts. A few years ago my Nebraska friend asked me to check one out that somehow made it's way to North Dakota. The price was great but when I got there I found the passenger wouldn't even close on the second latch. It looked nice but the inner sills were so bad it was sagging.

To find one rust free I think a person would have to pay a lot more than $8,000.00
