Excellent, It looks a lot better than mine!

Let me know how much you want for it and then we can figure out shipping.

Thanks for finding that.

NOS can supply you with new sun visors and the hard to find rear window parcel shelf

With the Pertronix you keep the stock cap and rotor and just toss your points.  I think they go for about $100.00 but its been a while since I bought one.

Bit more than points but set it and forget it.

I took your advice and bought the ignite system including the flame thrower coil. Ignite was 125 and coil was 60. Performance improvements had it in stock.

Thanks for the tip!

Do you need to provide a full +12v to the Pertronix (assuming that's what you bought)?  Not sure if you need to bypass the ballast resistor or what you need to do.

No ballast resistor, just a resistor wire on a '64 six and small V-8s. They put a ballast resistor on the 348 & 409 engines.

I think it did :)  Did the swap yesterday and she ran fine so I guess I got it right but it was a first for me.

Now I can set em and forget em!

Its actually really easy probably took me an hour tops, getting my old grommet out to run the new wires through the distributor took the longest to be honest.

Next on the list, figuring out why it seems to be missing on more than one cylinder although gap on pickup is .011 and wires are in correct firing order.

Glad it thawed out! Love the car!

Looks great with the Cragers on it. Your trunk looks very solid!

Thanks!  It was but sadly I developed a rear seal leak on my back window over the winter and ended up with some rust now :(

I'm trying to find someone that will pop the window and re seal.  In my driveway if possible.

How far does the damage go? I know the piston, and possibly the head is toast, but the bore still looks intact. How much piston debris is in the low end?

I actually dont know yet as I just got as far as pulling the head on the one side with no compression.  Regardless I just made a deal for a clean good running 69 327 that im going to drop in and I will rebuild the 283 over time to keep the numbers matching.  i will be disassembling and washing every comopnenet to make sure no contamination.

I ran a stock 283 for years. In my 64.  .. Loved it....but once that 327 goes in ... the 283 will be garage art..

your going to love the extra pick up of the 327 when cruising...

I still get over 20 mpg with mIne

Yes I won't be in any rush to put the 283 back in but will definitely rebuild and save. I think everything should bolt right n to the 327 ie power steering and brake pumps plus exhaust manifolds.

Well after much trial and tribulation I finally have a living breathing air aspirated 20 foot long 4000lb hunk of sexiness in my driveway.  It wasnt an easy haul though and I have definitely learned a ton.

The deal for the 327 replacement fell through but I ended up with a 62 283 fresh rebuild from Mallory Town and dropped it in a week ago and yesterday it ran for the first time!   I had purchased a 600 Holley that turned out to be too big so found a rebuilt Holley 390 and I am very pleased with it.  I watched the fuel consumption improve as well as no richness and better pickup.  I still have to figure out my kick down.  An interesting point, when I tuned the motor to 3 degrees from TDC it was very grumpy but turning the distributor by hand and fiddling with the alt a bit she now is running like a top.  Funny thing is the timing is definitely off the mark though.  Got my appraisal done and been driving it this week.

Im running Castrol 10/30 non synth for now and was told to change out after 500km.  Any input or comments is appreciated.
