This is a cowl tag on a Canadian 65 SS Nova, not an Acadian I know but the Canadian Nova's should follow the same cowl tag conventions as Acadians right?
I've never seen a date code like this for a 65 car, can this be right?
The next pic is the vin tag from the same car. Are those factory riverts? The car sure seems to be a 65 SS V8 car, can anyone shed some light on this?
Second shift November 17...those attachment rivets are no correct...be very cautious. Door pillar vin tag rivets do not look correct, too flat and too wide, tag doesn't appear bedded there since car was built. Be cautious. the over spray on cowl tag is not consistent with original 65 tags that i have seen Run away. this is what a untouched 65 tag should look like. notice its from the next shift, next day after one you posted

I have seen those same rivets on an all orig 65 beaumont in a junkyard once, may even have a photo. the firewall looks like it was resprayed, you can see the original paint masking on the cowl tag. it could be a unique canadian only thing done in 1965, go by the conditon and what the numbers say, i would not let those rivets discourage you. This car was built a month after yours, looks like same color to. anyone else with a early 65 canadian build with these same rivets?????

I know it costs a bit but if you're serious about the car GM Vintage can give you documents for that VIN that would put you at ease.
I'd like to see the rivets under the cowl tag goop. However, even if they would look correct, the cowl tag rivets are available as a repro so that would still not guarantee it's original to the body.
