Turbo 400 tranny, 

how is the frame for Rust...usually soft undrr the drivers side cowl....

I owned the twin to this one about twenty five years ago....ended up leaving it in bc for what. I owed in storage fees....no

The engine does not look stock. The alternator bracket and lack of manifold oil filler tube says to me a 69 and up small block.

 Try under the seat portion of the back & front seats. If the front seats have backs on them (I don't know your year's seat type), try inside the backs. Behind the glove box. Under the steering column.

 and I'm still looking for a 69 2+2. Coupe would be the preference.

 

The blue valve covers and the vacuum lines push the top end at the very least to the mid 70's.

It has the original Oshawa firewall stencil!

It is a rare car regardless, and would have been sweet at one time. Is it red interior?

Its a chev motor, because it's a chev car with Pontiac sheet metal on impala frame. That much I know about the 2+2.
The alternator on wrong side worries me though.
Block is blue as well.
intake looks like stamped 8486572, its also blue (was)

Motor, top, seats everything are original. Bought the car from original owner. Nothing was changed.

It doesn't have a power antenna, just a flex whip.
All I know is its Provincial white (CC) and urethane paint (9)

Power convertible top. Buckets in front with console shifter.
NO AC, no power brakes, windows or locks
am radio
blue interior
120 mph speedo

L1 L2 D shifter, so I assume its a 3 or 4 speed
Was told it was a 283 small block. But I cant tell now. It was 28 below zero and 60km hour winds when it arrived.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but there is a number of clues in the photo's to indicate this motor is from the mid-70's or later.  HEI distributor, alternator, power steering pump, intake & exhaust manifolds, valve covers, air cleaner, vacuum lines, and the turbo 350 kickdown cable all point to a later motor & transmission.

Scrape the engine pad just above the right inlet of the water pump.  There will be a n engine suffix code.. TJW or something like that .. That will tell you quickly what the engine was destined for originally..

Is the antenna on the passenger quarter panel? If so, it likely had a power antenna when it was new. No power antenna switch on the dash?

 M40 means t400 3 spd auto.

Trim 519 is blue bucket... (just visit the library and view similar) With that M40, it would have been a 327 or larger engine... Most likely a 327. The engine that sits there is definitely not.... For sure late '70's-'80's....

Oh, and it does have power brakes. You can see the booster in the engine pic.

Almost impossible to find a car a that ilk that hasn't been re-powered at some time or other. I had one the same colour that had a nasty demise, back in the mid-eighties, but I won't bore you with the epic drama.

Very cool car- I love it.

The motor isn't important unless it was a factory big block, in my opinion. They're a dime a dozen for the old small blocks. I can't even get $250 for the 283 and cast iron tranny out of my 62 Parisienne parts car. All the kids want more power :) (at least they store easy)
