I know this is the American variant, but I don't have any American Pontiac friends I'm hoping someone here has some knowledge on the Yankee versions.
Long story short, I found a Brougham convertible. If the Bonneville is the Grande Parisienne, the Bonneville Bougham is a model higher, with no real Canadian version. Why? It adds leather and things that we just couldn't get up there.
If someone knows these cars, I have a few questions like:
- Some previous knob of a PO cut the dash for a single-DIN Pioneer radio (yay). I have a spare cluster, so I can live with that.
- Same dude also cut the doors for door speakers.
The door speakers are a problem, as I think the Brougham had specific door panels. I'm kind of hoping, though, that some other B-Body or Cadillac shared them. Maybe they're Caprice shells for all I know (they do say Brougham, but a Parisienne says Pontiac and is an really Impala panel, for example).
Other knocks on this car include: - The delusion on the part of the seller that this is a #1 car worth $38,000 or something - A recent repaint in "who knows what color", and the jambs were painted because the air grill inside is now body color - Odd to me that it has the endura rear bumper in black. Unless this was a black car (awesome!) and they forgot to paint that
Thanks! Dave

YOU MIGHT WANT TO COMPARE THE BONNEVILLE DOOR PANELS AGAINST GRANDE PARISIENNE PANELS. GP'S HAVE MOLDED "3D" PANELS, DIFFERENT THAN THE FLAT PARISIENNE, 2+2, IMPALA OR CAPRICE PANELS.
No help to you Dave, but the 428/390 engine is my all time, all around, favorite Pontiac engine!!
Docile but very powerful. Many got junked to donate their engine to a Firebird or GTO etc.
PM sent with info for US 69 guru. I'm sure I have a 69 cluster surround if you need one, and probably have a 70 passenger side Brougham woodgrain dash insert if you need it.

From what I have seen, a 69 Brougham convert would have to be a 1500 mile completely original car to bring $38,000 on the open market. However, with that said, a car is worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it.

Can anyone expand on the difference between Canadian Pontiac and US Chevrolet door panels? I thought they were the same except for the badge/emblem. It'd be no cost savings to make them different but not Pontiac-specific...
