60 E brake cable question

Hi all ,I  ordered a 60 impala intermediate E brake cable for my  60 Parisienne and im finding its about 6-8 inches to short , i cant find the actual size of this cable , ive seen cable lengths listed from 98-110 inches . Can anyone tell me what the length of this cable should be? I need to figure out if i messed up something or is this cable i ordered just to short. Thx in advance.

I opened the GM parts books for 60 Impala and 60 Parisienne. They both say the same cable for all 58-64, regardless of body style or transmission. I am guessing the interchange info for the jobber cable must be wrong.

The GM book doesn't give the length for it, sorry.

Hopefully someone on here has been through this and can help.

I have a brand new cable in a package that came with my car. (62 Pontiac). It is marked "Fargo Automotive". 58c-2596 58-64 Chevrolet full size passenger car 64-66 Chevelle intermediate brake cable. I just went out to the shop and measured it. It is 89 inches ball to ball. Hope this helps.

Silly question but.... is the parking brake pedal in UP or DOWN position?

It looks like the cable to the brake shoes is new. Perhaps this one is shorter? Have measured the one off the 60 Laurentian and it is 40" long

I just did one on my son's 63 last week, at first it seemed short, too shortso with the guide wheels off I roughly routed it. ( and not thru the frame holes that look like they might be for it)
with a pry on the pivot arm, I was just able to get the cable startedPut on a nut, just a bit, and then went to reinstall the wheels after attaching on the inside. First wheel is easy, second is tough..You'll need someone to hold and position the wheel while you put the bolt in, unless ur fender wells are off and then it'll
be easy.

All 59-64 Pontiac and Chevys have the same frame dimensions and wheel bases, to answer an earlier question. And the 58's are almost identical.

Left and right are the same and go to the back wheels, but you said intermediate, I assume you mean the "center" cable, not the one that goes to the back wheels.

Theu list a "front" cable too.
