You best tear it right down, clean it and inspect it close for other damage from the filings floating around. Had a 454 once where the filings from the cam jammed up a piston pin and it started knocking. Had to tear it down and replace the piston and the bearings. Also the lifter bore had to be cleaned and polished (new lifter was not free in bore). Good luck.
