Wow! That is nice. Is it a 389 2-barrel regular fuel? They sometimes did 389 2-barrel high compression with the Hydramatic.
I'd change the windshield, some hoses and clamps. I'd be careful about how I'd proceed from there. A careful cleaning and detailing, or a correct redoing under the hood and on the outboard edges of the trunk. The talents of a pro would be indispensable. The car would then be darn near perfect.
The build sheet is a score. It was loaded up with insulation and a deluxe seat cushion. The fender skirts look great but were added after the car rolled off the line, hence the wheel opening moldings as spares. The sixty-sixes are about the best looking cars made with fender skirts.

Thanks guys!! I would like to keep this one, but have my eye on a 67 Wagon and needed to come up with some funds so I purchased this car to simply flip, but agree it is a very cool old ride that could be purchased and driven daily for less than newer used car............:) The YC is the higher compression 389. I agree about detailing this one, don't know that I would do much of anything other than the the coolant hoses, timing chain would have to go, spark plugs, find a correct dist cap, Windshield and that is about it. I don't think I would redo the engine compartment at all. It clearly shows that this is an original mileage car.
The current bids on the car are from real people. This one is likely going overseas based on the active bidders.

Beautiful original car! It's not often that you see one of these clear steering wheels in such good shape!
Would love to have this one myself, but not logistically practical at the moment. Personally would prefer it without the skirts, but that's a preference thing.
Good luck on the sale, it's too bad to see it go overseas, but I know a lot of those guys appreciate big old American iron more than the locals do, as we mostly are caught up in the muscle car thing, and typically hate 4-door anything. At least at that money it will go to somebody who will appreciate the car and not look at it as a drivetrain donor for a GTO or whatever.

The rear wheel well chrome trim is included with the car.
I'm lucky, I have 2 clear/aqua wheels non-yellowed/un-crackled ... the clear plastic tends to yellow and crackle.

if you want to sell one of those wheels and is for a 65/66 and is perfect I know a guy that would pay big bucks for it and is activly looking right now. :)
I need a light blue one for my 65

Sorry, my spare is for a '64. Light blue is a little easier to find than aqua ... hope you can find one.

Nice car. The owner is up front about the paint job (different colour shades), good on him, but there's just something wrong (body work) in some of the pictures.
