It would be a shame for Canada to lose one of those rare Canadian Beaumont Sport Deluxe convertibles, but the seller is within their rights to seek the highest offer from wherever.

All of the GOOD cars in Canada will eventually end up in America........OR overseas.....

We've lost too many GOOD ones already........Reason being.....simply put..........Canadians are chicken sh*t about spending $$$ on old cars.....and MOST Canadian car guys seem to be "flippers"....hoping to pick up a couple of thousand.....and then have a "story" to tell their pals @ Tom Hortons.....about the one they USED to have...but never should have sold....

I'm prolly guilty as well......but NEVER sold ANY car that I didn't want to keep.....

We are just fortunate that Canadian Pontiacs ARE hermaphroites.....most Americans think they are interesting....but weird.....

If they were Impalas,Mallibus and Chevvy IIs,....they'd ALL be gone to America by NOW.....

Come to 427Carl's house, or timbuk's house, or my house, and we will show you our purses, so you can choose which one you want, and we will show you what you can do with it. You can say "I don't like those wheels or that color" but don't go around flaming others here, eh?

That burnt orange color is gorgeous, and those wheels are perfect, IMHO.

And the 64-65 body style may not be as popular as the 66-67, but they still had sweet lines.

Does the color match your purse?      biggrin

With all due respect, that's kind of a strange comment.

I think the point that you are missing here is that the owner did the car to his tastes (FWIW, I like the wheels too, and am most assuredly heterosexual), and then unfortunately passed away.  Now his son is selling the car as is.  It's a beautiful car but perhaps not done to everybody's tastes.  I would imagine the deceased owner probably didn't give a crap whether others liked it or not, and now it doesn't matter anyhow.

I'm sure if it is advertised in a more prolific manner it will sell sooner rather than later.  Sounds like the car has only been mentioned on this board so far, and everybody knows we are all cheap SOBs... biggrin

Just thinking out loud. The spirit of the post was to canvas some thoughts pertaining to the car. While it is understandably not everyones choice of a color, it's also evident that somebodies deceased father (who was a car guy like us) was quite passionate about this car.

I'm dead certain someone is not going to like how I paint my car, but I wil...its all that matters..and respect for others choices...unless its completely hideous and we all wonder what they were thinking.....I like the car.

It's awful how guys pick a car apart that they have no intention to buy. The poor guy lost his dad and here is someone trying to help him sell it and all there are is smart ass comments about the cars appearance. Some of you people should be ashamed of yourselves. Unreal! Not everyone likes dog dish hubcaps and drum brakes-I do but that doesn't mean everyone has to do the same thing for gods sake! If everyone's car looked exactly the same it would be a pretty boring world!

The comments are from close to a year ago. Let's make sure we don't get hung up on any negative comments that were made and focus on the fact that this car remains for sale. It would be nice to see it go to a new home to relieve the seller of the burden of having it around.

Yes  I agree Carl! Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and I like the car and I am interested in it .

I am going to find out what I can when I talk to the son and I will go from there .

Everybody has a opinion and they are all good and it makes the world go round . Not everyone likes

the same thing and thank god for that . Keep up the good work and keep on commenting good

or bad because personally I like all sides of a discussion and take what I like and throw out what is no good to me .

Keep up the good work!!

Darrell

 Well said Carl!

If it's still for sale it probably needs a price adjustment.

I am not in any way trying to defend the price for this car and the end result when it sells will determine the right price for it but one reason I know for sure it hasn't sold is that no one knows it is for sale. I've never seen it advertised on our local city web site or any of the typical like Kijiji or Craigslist. As far as I know this has been the only site where it has been shown. From what I know the son is kept busy with running their very successful business and really hasn't made any time to promote the car.

Yes, this car is still for sale, probably for less than half of the asking price.  We hauled this to a shop on Thursday and only had it on the hoist for a short while.  Rot in many areas, poor quality repairs, lots of bondo.  Basically needs a full restoration.  It has beautiful chrome, nice interior, good power train, and the rest is a disaster.  I had to break the news to the owners and they will be making a major price adjustment but too bad they got took.  It reminded me of a blue car that was sold in Ontario a few years ago and is now getting a restoration in the east by Ashmore.  A person has to watch not to be taken in by the shiny paint.  I ended up the bearer of bad news to the prospective buyer and the present owners.

This support has 3 or 4 different pieces welded together and then the ends are finished off with fibreglass.
