Wow! 1960 Parisienne Sport Coupe on e-Bay

Just a few hours left on this nice car. 283 Powerglide, stock and immaculate. Not mine (I wish).

Nice!

BTW, what was the purpose of the headlight shades.  I remember seeing a lot of them around in the seventies, but never really understood their purpose.

Those headlight half-moons were sold for reducing glare for oncoming traffic , and possibly better performance in fog. Personally I think it is purely a customization. I remember when Ontario banned the sale of them in 1970. Virtually unenforced for cars with them.

Thanks, I wondered about that.  They look like they would actually reduce the effectiveness of low beams.

Question: Did '60 Parisiennes have hood insulation? An option?

59-60 Chevrolets have it available as a repro     don't know on a 60 Pontiac      My car was ordered as a 4 speed so insulation was deleted along with the white hood stripes

4 speed '64 Parisiennes did without a hood altogether ... there was a hood delete option.

Wow, nothing like rhino lining everything, bolts , frame, trailing arms etc.

I'd say the selling car lot did that, and it wouldn't be as durable as any sort of lining. Basically spatter paint, and painted exhaust etc. Stuff like that irks me to no end.

All things considered....it IS a VERY nice car.....

The exterior comes off really well (LOVE the color)....but the fender skirts just RUIN the whole deal......(they need to go in the TRUNK.......or a place even further away)

The interior is also real sharp....but the seat inserts look a bit weird to me....and what's with the little "hotplates" on the rear parcel shelf...

Not much ELSE to pick at ....the stock wheels, tires and single exhaust get BONUS points...in MY book....biggrin
