Nice car ... I have a fondness for them.

My '83 Omega beater was a great car (I called it "Measles Omega" because of the primer spots all over it). It had great acceleration and was very reliable. I owned it for a few years while living in Toronto, and slept soundly every night knowing that bad drivers could do it no harm while parallel parking downtown.

That brings back memories, find one now . Not cheap but its still new . Those things rotted out in short time.
Nice car and if the padded roof wasnt there it would be that much better.
Thanks for the post Todd.

My dad had a 76 Nova 4dr for a couple years in the 80's. The engine went before the severly faded red body did.

Very nice condition, no collector market for it, ambitious price. "I'm more comfortable around $5000." - TV car show personality based in Dallas, running his hands through his hair

It sure is well preserved and to many a beautiful example of this dreadful era in GM History.

I beat a '76 Nova with the same vinyl top treatment (hmmm...Cabriolet?) through my university years.  Tough as nails and a decent car to drive.  Sold it to my buddy who beat on it for a couple more years after that.

I never grew to like that vinyl top - always looked to me like it just didn't fit in with the rest of the styling.

This looks like a nice example, and probably worth the money to somebody, but for me I just couldn't see myself paying it for an "OldsmoBuick" of the 'personal luxury' disco era...  It's just me, no matter how old I get I'll probably always look at them as beaters...

It has been a long time since these cars were common. I had a friend with a 1975 Olds Omega Salon hatchback when I was in high school. His car had the 350 Olds with a Quadrajet, FE2 Suspension, reclining factory buckets. It had the same wheels on it as the Kijiji car, plus it had B.F. Goodrich Radial TAs. This was probably around 1979/80. By 1984 it was starting to develop rust so rather than address the rust he just sold it and bought a new 1984 Charger. 1984 Chargers are otherwise known as the Dodge Omni 024 hatchback. bleh.gif

That Cabriolet vinyl roof looks like it belongs in Harlem, along with wide whitewalls on wires and a Rolls Royce grille. That Omega has survived well though.
