Very impressive there Jim. I hope I'll be able to see it some time. If it is at a show at least it will be easy to find. You obviously have been working on this for awhile as there has been so much work done. Great job.

I'll take a break from the pictures I have more but first a little about my project.

I started it about 8-9 years ago and I hope to be done by this July or August its been a lot of time and money to get it this far. I started out I was just going to rebuild it stock but put a V-8 in it then I got a real good deal on a abused 1984 Corvette but it had a good tranny (that I had beefed up to take a 1,000 HP) and running gear, so I took the tranny out and all the running gear seats steering column and the foot pedals the wrecker got the rest. I had a frame and front clip built by a guy in Abbottsford I copied the clip from a clip I saw in a Super Chevy Nova book and we went from there the book only had the front clip but I wanted the corvette suspension front and back so that's what was done. The same guy built my exhaust and manifolds for me the manifolds are custom built we couldn't find anything that would work corvette headers got in the way of the steering so he built them and done a very good job he also custom designed the stainless steel exhaust. The racket pinion steering and the rear axels were 3/4" to long for the car body so they had to go to the machine shop to be shortened and balanced same as the drive shaft. Then when we put the 17" corvette wheels on they rubbed on the front clip when cranking the wheel hard left or right so we notched the front clip frame rails about 2' on a 45 degree angle worked great.
Its funny the steering column, gas, brake pedals and seat tracks fit almost perfect with very little modifications almost as if they were made for this car nice when some things work out.

I had made a 302 cameo engine with brodex racing heads a bow tie 4" high rise intake both ported and polished that I was going to put in this car but then I got thinking about the motor and that I had never seen or herd of one in an automatic I had only seen them with standard 4 speed shift so that was out. Found a really good deal on a LS engine but like I said earlier we couldn't find headers that would work so we went with twin turbo's instead to get a little more HP that was my reasoning anyway.
Then I left the lower mainland and moved to Kamloops in the BC interior hauled my car down here to be finished found a really good body shop to finish it off very fussy guy which I like he builds it like it is his no short cuts he come very highly recommended by many body shops around Kamloops and when I went to visit him at his shop he was doing a frame off 66 mustang and a porch frame off as well that sold me on his work.
I have replaced every thing in this car and made the frame better than GM ever thought of it will never rust in my life time I put 3 coats of box liner on the under side and 3 coats on the inside put primmer inside and out on every part of the car we could get at dyno mat in the front floors, built a console from front to back with 4 bucket seats the front ones are power tracks and seats the top of the console is aluminum swirled and match all hose clamps and turbo tunnel above the rad and inter cooler, vintage air, power windows pioneer stereo with GPS 4 speakers 500 watts each, 900 watt amp, 1500 watt woofer 4 stock interior lights that were in the back of the 63 sport deluxe consoles and 2 round stock interior lights that were in a 57 vet 4 blue LED lights one under each seat to light up the floor area. I'm going with white and grey interior white seats and top.

I got a bit of a chuckle out of this part...

"we couldn't find headers that would work so we went with twin turbo's instead"

That car is going to be terrific!

I'll bet it drives and handles great with that suspension,,, and that engine,,, well,,, it should be peppy enough. biggrin

I'm going with a Fast self tuning fuel injection system I got the Fast tech's working on the system best suited for my set up they will get the parts list and a price from them for the system they suggest in a couple of days. Once its all in and running I'll get a Dyno test done on it to fine tune it in

I'll come down to Penticton Lefty and check it out for sure wild horses couldn't hold me back from it.

1.jpg1.jpg1.jpg1.jpg1.jpgIts been a while since my last post still working on my 62 Convert getting very close I'm hoping spring 2018 got a mech. he's doing the wiring for motor had to remove and replace the waste gate springs they were 9+ pounds to much power for turbo's I don't think I would be able to keep it on the road so I think I'll go with 7 pound springs.

I have a few more picture's to share

Well good to hear you are still making progress. Looks like you are maxing out every square inch in that engine bay, it looks great. I was up at the Kamloops show either last year or the year before and thought of your car but I see it should be out soon. Very impressive build.
