SPEAKING OF PAINT....

In the great star of California I am being forced to use a urethane base/ clear or a water-bourne base/ clear because ALL lacquer based finishes are now nonexistent due to the EPA.

Are lacquer or enamel formulations still available in my 'home and native land'? If so, anyone have a supplier in Ontario or B.C.?

I'm trying to get a match for Tarragon Green.

contact Alana at Advanced Coatings in Calgary. There's a thread in search box above, called interior paint, you'll see.

Go to www.autocolorlibrary.com they can make your paint in any type you need, and I believe they are from California.I got my sunsand beige for the roof of my 54 from them and they are one of the only ones who have and know the formula for my pueblo tan I will need for the body.

Wow- right here in Cali under my nose! You are right they have OEM chips online and you can get any paint type- despite the fact that lacquer is supposedly non EPA compliant here.
I spent almost half an hour today talking to an Arizona supplier and they finally found a listing but the formula didn't exist and the chip is too small to scan. Anyway this looks like my ticket out of paint code hell!
Thanks HSCOWBOY!

I was successful in ordering a US gallon of acrylic lacquer in Tarragon Green with the retarder delivered (CA.) for right around $250. The colour (or as they say here 'color' ) looks like a good match. Thx. again 'Cowboy for the lead.

I'll post some progress pictures as things go along. I'm going to 'warm up' on the firewall and then the repro. sun visor before getting serious on the body.
