No pics, I apologize. Today while taking my M.I.L. to an appointment I saw park on Industrial Road in Leaside a nice 1967 Plymouth Sport Fury Fast Top in Light Turquoise with 14" Magnums (typical drum brake car). It looked nice and I wondered what on earth it is doing out when the roads have been brined. It always makes me cringe when I see a classic out in December.

Amazing. I guess JD was too cheap to even get a radio in it.
Meteor Rideau 500. Oakville built. My dad had basically the same stripper car in pale yellow on black, but a 73. Dishes too. Bought from Gemini Lincoln Mercury in Hamilton.

Irving had a fleet of I think LTDs like this, for security they were all identical and I think dark blue. A fellow I met who knew KC Irving would go for lunch with him. KC drove himself everywhere, they would walk out the company office door and jump in a big blue plain Jane 4 door LTD, the keys were in it. Theyd leave it at the restaurant parking lot, keys in it, have lunch, come back out and there would be another LTD parked in a different spot with the keys in the ignition. His security would keep a fresh Ford handy. They had a family member kidnapped in 1982, one of KCs sons.
We repossessed a 1972 Mercedes SEL once, it was the long version bought new by the Sobeys and they had a chauffeur. The car was a beauty, think leather seats, white oak trim, including around the interior glass, and and air bag suspension, plus a big V8, may have been a 6.3. I took it for a test drive, it would do 120 mph easily. The car got sold in St Johns, NL and I think got a full resto.
I didnt know the Irvings had a place in Chester.

Mahone Bay, NS Still not old enough to need an automatic
Spotted on Facebook. Ah to be rich enough to drive a new car once and then forget about it:
1974 mercury/lincoln Less than 231km's. JD Irving's cottage car. Used for 1 single trip from Chester Ns to halifax NS and back then forgot about.
I remember Rothmans Canada, the tobacco company, used to have a new 1974 Mercury Rideau wagon with the same details as the Rideau 500 above, right down to the base hubcaps. The car was white with the major portion of the sides in dark blue with a gold Rothmans logo on the doors.
It is also kind of funny how in Canada they kept the cheapest trim levels in the base models alive, even building coupes like the Laurentian, Bel Air, Custom 500, or weird stripped cars like the base full-size 1977 Plymouth with dog dish caps but hidden headlights (seen new as unmarked police cars).

Our son was on the Trans Canada highway west of Winnipeg earlier today and got his wife to snap some pics of this as they passed it. I bet this is the one that has been advertised out there for quite a while. Think it was on Marketplace and the seller was Kyle something.
Anyway, what are those side mouldings? Sure not original 66 Grande Parisienne. Are they maybe side mouldings from 98 and older GM pickups?
This is probably the one from kenora originally. Belonged to a school teacher new. It was Granada gold til someone on the minaki road painted it red for thier daughter. Then it ended up in wpg for sale. About 15 yrs ago. Guy had a hell of a time trying to sell on kijiji back then. It was pretty nice back when it was still gold. That would have been around 1999.

THAT is why it looked familiar! Seems to me he wanted about $3900 for it? And it was listed for a long long time.

A 2 door blue 64 Beaumont going N on Hwy 11 north of Barrie around 10:15 in traffic, the blue colour was what I first noticed.
On the return trip going North, just south of Bracebridge going south, another 65-66 Beaumont ( chrome slashes behind the drivers door) on a trailer, missing the whole front end, not wrecked from the quick look I could see. Someone here doing a resto?
