Some of them look like spot welds for baffles or something. Typical quality control back in the day...
They are factory spotwelds to hold in the rocker arm oil splash drippers. oil splashes on the inside of rocker covers and runs down drippers onto rockers. Made from factory. Not sure about them chromed from factory though....i'd like to see part numbers stamps....you could get drippers on aftermarket goodies too.

No those divits you see are from the spot welds for the oil drippers for the L72 high revving motor. If I'm not wrong I just may have a pair of them in the garage. They were available in Orange and Chrome from factory
