1968 Parisienne lower steering column bearing.

Hi,
Just wondering if anyone knows the part number or a cross reference number for the lower steering column bearing, the stepped bearing, (column auto) for a 1968 Parisienne.  Having trouble finding a replacement one. Just wondering if NTN,Timken, SKF etc make such a bearing to suit.
The car in question is an Australian delivered Parisienne. I don't know whether the Canadian Parisienne's or the Catalina's would be the same? The Australian Parisienne's are based around the Chevy Impala's of the same year. Thanks in advance.

I'm glad you answered this Philip, I saw the question the other day when I was at work, meant to answer when I got home and forgot.

Hey Phil,

You wouldn't happen to have a part number for that lower steering bearing would you? Had a look on NOS web site, still can't find one??
Cheers,

Steve.

Is the top the same as the bottom? I have a couple of those. Contact dale direct rather than looking at the website. Don't think he has all parts on there.

I believe he is chasing the lower column bearing, not the rag joint. Like the one in the indicator assembly

It looks like it just dry. If it still has all the bearings in it  just soak it in wd40 to clean it out and the repack grease in the slot. I have done a few like that with good results.

Hi Dale,

Yeah no luck with the local GM dealer here. Have contacted a few places in OZ, but still waiting on their replies. Looks like I'll have to purchase the bearing from you guys in Canada or the States. Thanks for all the info guys.
