Hi Don: I live in Kincardine, Ontario. which is 2.5 hours W of Toronto on Lake Huron. I have been to Mahone Bay a few years ago to visit a fellow I went to school with. Beautiful spot. John

Hi All: Update on the days circus. Went to garage to check fuel situation. Quick fix.(PUT GAS IN TANK). Fired up and ran well for approx 5 mins.. Was watching gauges when oil pressure dropped to O. Shut it down and checked gauge and lines for blockage but OK checked line from pump to filter and alas no oil from engine.!!. Sooo, gotta think about that for awhile.Anybody got some good news suggestions. John

I've been to the Waterloo area, never made it to Kincardine, I bet its nice there. I'm sure you'll get that thing running, you seem pretty close. If its not smelling flooded, it must not have enough fuel, most of the other possible issues will create a lot of unburnt fuel that will have a very strong smell. You likely have 2 things wrong, not enough fuel and (timing and/or vacuum leak).

UPDATE. With the sudden loss of oil pressure day or so ago had to change direction. Pulled the dizzy this AM and discovered a broken shaft where the pin hold the gear that meshes with the cam. Go figure, it looks like it has been cracked for a while and just let go. Fortunately I was watching the gauges as it let go (pressure drops real fast!!) so got it shut down quick. I was able to get the piece out with a magnet so I will put another dizzy in tomorrow and continue on.

Hi: Still not going. Before putting dizzy in I pumped up the oil to ensure the pump was OK and it worked OK. I installed dizzie and turned engine a few degrees to ensure everything was ok. (roter moved approx 20 degrees. used starter to turn over , valve train works but dizzie was not turning.  I just put my tools away and will get to it next week. Not so much fun today.
