nice with the 4 speed but i dont get it , but if i am not wrong the A M X was the top of the line Javelin and it did not even have a factory rpm in the dash

I know a guy who is the original owner of a 1974 (with all the goodies and more). I believe you had to check off the boxes for any performance goodies. By 74 the basic  AMX was more of an appearance option ??

 At least that's what the owner wants you to believe.nono.

I had a 68,69 and 73 AMX's. Back in the 70's. All of them 4 speeds, and fun cars. They weren't very valuable back then. At least nobody thought mine were when I was trying to sell them!

The ad is gone. It must have been a nice example.

I have the 1974 Javelin / AMX brochure right here beside me. For manual transmissions on an AMX that year you could get a 304 3-speed floor shift, 360 4-barrel 4-speed, or a 401 4-barrel 4-speed. The Javelin offered the same plus a 232 six 3-speed.
