I know a guy who is the original owner of a 1974 (with all the goodies and more). I believe you had to check off the boxes for any performance goodies. By 74 the basic AMX was more of an appearance option ??
I love the car you can always tell when they are really nice They are PRICEless
At least that's what the owner wants you to believe..
I had a 68,69 and 73 AMX's. Back in the 70's. All of them 4 speeds, and fun cars. They weren't very valuable back then. At least nobody thought mine were when I was trying to sell them!
I have the 1974 Javelin / AMX brochure right here beside me. For manual transmissions on an AMX that year you could get a 304 3-speed floor shift, 360 4-barrel 4-speed, or a 401 4-barrel 4-speed. The Javelin offered the same plus a 232 six 3-speed.
