IIRC, the steering wheel is an American Chevrolet NOS piece (different grain pattern from the Canadian wheels) and the 2+2 insert as well as the console was then fabricated from scratch to match it.  Or maybe it was the console, but we started with one NOS something and then matched everything else to it.

I've seen the burled wood on the US Bonneville's dash insert, but that can't be the piece we started with as they'd have to "erase" the Bonneville part.

So it's liberty. But an American would never notice! Same as the dash gauges, I suppose.

Dave, I like the the look of the burled wood so that is mostly why I was wondering. Ultimately when I get around to piecing together a 2+2, I will be taking a few liberties as well.

Anyone know if the Caprice used a different wood pattern? I don't remember the GrandeP being different, but for some reason I recall the Caprice having burl wood. It's a hazy memory though. I'm wondering if that's where the steering wheel insert came from perhaps.
