This one looks like its in good shape with original paint, except the turbo hood added on from a later version. The ad says it now has a 400 and a mean exhaust system, which I suppose it would need to get past the 'girlie' image. Seriously, though, it's kinda neat when taken into context.
Selling 1977 baby blue sky bird Esprit Firebird. It has a 400 Pontiac Big Block that's been rebuilt to 406. Has a mean stainless steel exhaust valued at $900+ tons of money been invested in the car . The frame and underneath are in mint condition.
The car has potential. Imagine what a sick paint job would look like on such a straight body.
New plugs and wires and fresh oil a week ago. The car runs and drives like a dream. Very rare and famous car. Ready for burnouts and nice drives. Asking 4800$ No trades For fastest response call or email Ph. 902-209-6233
Not many of these cars around on the east coast, either bought up and parted out, or scary expensive. I have a 1980 formula, lucked out in shape and price here's a glimpse sorry it's sideways :p
......it would want to have something to get past the seller is a knobhead image.....

That particular blue was normally a T-car only colour in '77 (Chevette & Acadian).
Any buyer would want to check the engine code to be sure of what they are getting. Engine choices at the factory topped out at 350 cubes, but a 400 Pontiac is bolt-in.
I remember a pink Swinger 340 in the showroom at Bay-King Motors (Dodge Chrysler) Hamilton back in 1970. You go out on a limb when you buy a car in these fringe colours. I wonder if that pink Swinger is the same car that ended up being sold in Georgetown, Ontario?

Just to clear things up and to be fair to the seller, the comment 'to get past the girly image' was mine. It was meant in humour, since these cars were unapologetically marketed to women.
I don't know the seller, but I think he is trying to appeal to a buyer who might be put off by the feminine paint scheme but I won't try to guess what's on another person's mind, as I'm usually wrong.

I got the impression from the ad that the seller, or at least a previous owner installed a 400. As usual, buyer beware as often engines which externally look like every other engine in the family are often misrepresented, sometimes even because the seller was told by the previous seller that it was a "whatever" and didn't check it out for himself.
Somewhat ironically, the more effeminate hi-impact colours on early seventies Mopars are among the most desirable today, mostly due to their rarity but also as a statement about how different car marketing was back then. I remember talking to a young guy at a car show some 30 years ago about his yellow R/T Challenger convertible on which you could see original Panther Pink down in the convertible well. He said he painted it yellow because he didn't want to be seen driving a pink car. Fast forward to today and that pink would be a selling point.
I don't foresee the same thing happening for Sky Birds, Red Birds and Yellow Birds. Maybe if it had been an option on the Trans Am, but not for an Esprit. IMHO.
My high school buddy painted his (father's hand me down) '67 2 door Coronet, baby blue. Itactually stood out and was pretty cool with the medium blue interior.
