You have been a real trooper with your car. That is what it takes for one of these cars. I'm just not as patient. At my age, I don't have time for 5 year projects. A big part of what I was trying to say was, it is so easy to say, wow, I'll buy that and throw a 327 4 spd in it. I was just trying to point out the pit falls that come with that year and model car.
It certainly is true all of our cars can be money pits. My point was the 1962-65 Nova/Acadian, as much as I love them, and I have owned a few, they just have fewer potential buyers and that is reflected in the re-sale price.
63 Parisienne sport coupe (The Big GTO), black, maroon interior, 409 4 speed; former owner of a 59 El Camino, 63 Corvette SWC, 62 Chev Bel Air SC. 1963- Pontiac top selling car in Canada
Mahone Bay, NS Still not old enough to need an automatic
Car is still for sale.... If the floor was solid I'd go look at it but I'm good for basket cases...lol
New add
barn find unmolested car, runs & drives. 6 cyl powerglide. all Acadian-specific trim and emblems are here and intact. I personally would not cross the country with it...but i might take the chance to drive it to Edmonton. would you? I don't know what your tolerance for risk or adventure are. so, don't ask me if you could drive it to....wherever you live. that is a question only you can answer. freshly rechromed bumpers and emblems. Interior has been well used by mice- carpet has been removed, seats need recovering. headliner looks good w/no rips. Rust- yes there is a bit. its a 50 year old car. there are two toonie- sized holes above the headlights, plus one toonie-size hole in the driver side quarter panel from a poor quality repair many years ago.and the floor pans are pretty rough. Thats it for rust, the balance of the car is very solid. I do have new full-length floor pans on the way. Trunk area, rockers and bottom of car are very good.
Cash talks, SERIOUS BUYERS ONLY PLEASE. If you are looking for a perfectly mint original 50 year old car, or a perfectly restored 50 year old car, this is not it. lets not waste each other's time. If you can appreciate a really solid 50 year old car with great patina, give me a call. I DO NOT RESPOND TO TEXTS until we have spoken together. yes, i do try to reply to all telephone messages. But, I have been inundated with requests on this car and i just don't have time to waste. hopefully the right buyer can get thru.
I'm really sorry and I apologize. All I wanted to do was give other guys the benefit of my experiences modifying the original Acadians. My comments regarding valuation of original and modified 1962-65 Acadian/Novas were simply an observation. I was in no way saying don't follow your dreams because you will never get your money back.
The rule of thumb is, don't spend money on a car you will resell. Unfortunately, I have never been able to follow that rule. I can't resist the desire to make them a better, faster and safer ride.

Apologize for what, in my opinion your bang on with your assesment. Did all the work myself, not 1 thing contracted out yet and still probably wont be able to get what I,m into it for. Add 25% to that 15-20g to make canadian funds.
