Hi, there's a '65 Laurentian for sale near me. It is the "2-door post sedan" so I'm just wondering about the rarity of the car since I can't find production numbers anywhere or basically any info on these cars.
Looks like a good project although I couldn't see the lower body (or frame) too well and that's where the rust will be.
As for rarity I haven't seen much for numbesr except that there were apparently about 1400 V8 Laurentian 2 door sedans made for 1966.
This body style was the cheapest full size Pontiac you could get( I believe) so they should be quite plentiful considering how frugal most of our depression-raised parents were. However you just don't run across them all that often as that body style was kind of out of style by the sixties.
They are rare enough to really stand out on the street that's for sure.
I imagine that George Zapora could tell us how many were built if someone with a VIN from one of those cars would send it in to him.
It would be interesting to see just how many Strato Chief 2 door sedan 6 cylinder cars with no options were actually made.
I'm sure Carl (427) still has his paperwork for his '66 Strato Chief ... his was a barebones six. The #s for '65 Strato Chiefs would be comparable I bet.

When my aunt was in her 50s she bought her first car ( it was also her first new car ) - a 66 Stato Chief 4dr 6 cyl auto. Everyone chipped in to teach her to drive as her husband didn't drive and her 2 teenage girls hadn't learnt either.
Only option was a basic AM radio.
It served her well for many a year.

"Post" is just car slang ... like calling a convertible a "ragtop".

(2792 produced)
That number is for V8 cars-there is no production numbers in the Production Numbers thread regarding 6 cylinder 2 dr post cars for '66. I had one and I would still be interested in knowing.........
