If this is for me Mike, it will be a while before I can answer that, don't plan on seeing the car for a while. I have two hoods, one on the car I got from you, do you remember what year it has no grilles and another I got from an OPP officer who was tasked with cleaning out the unclaimed stolen property shed and he said it was a 1975 for sure. I'll let you know when I find out.

Thanks Ray , But for all as i have never noticed the extra stamping . If it is a vin i have to dig into the collection for the correct hood . lol
Looks like four or five digits and mine being a 75 hood , it ended in 75 but i could not make out the first three or four digits . I am curious if it is a vin # and if not are any stamped with a 74 or if any rear vented 73 only hoods have a 73 code there . I do feel it is a vin thou .
