1968 El Camino SS - Tribute to a my real SS!

This El Camino was originally built in California, and it has a mint rust free body with only 50,000 original miles. Now it has a terrific Ash Gold paint job, a mint original interior (nothing reproduction, not even the bucket seat covers) and a very good low-mileage 307 motor, 4-speed tranny, and low-mileage original 10 bolt posi rear. It still has the original factory air shocks too. It sits on a set of 15x7 rally wheels and a good set of BF Goodrich radials. I also have good used carpet out of another car, that is included but I have not had time to install.

I realize that I will not get out the over $30k that I have into it, but it is a steal at $20,000 as it sits. I'll reduce the price accordingly if I keep the M22 and reinstall the original Saginaw 3-speed.

I will consider a trade (up or down) for a similar 1967, 1968, 1969, 1970 or 1971 vintage Chevelle, Beaumont, Camaro, Nova, cuda, Challenger, GTO, Lemans, convertible, etc.

Don't take the lack of response as lack of interest.  This is  a beauty!   I'm still drooling.

Most beautiful year of Camino built in my opinion, subtle differences than than 69-72s.......reminds me of my long gone 68

WOW what a knock out. Of the 64 to 72 Chevelles, i always thought the 68 was the best looking of them all. I had a 68 300 Deluxe two door post back in 1978. I hope that 307 always stays where it belongs. Good luck with the sale.

Even as a tribute, the 396 badging won't sell it with a 307 under the hood. Nice paint, good luck with sale. $16,000 might be close
to the right buyer.

Thanks guys. I may just put the original 307 badging back on the fenders. This colour looks terrific in the sun... (these wheels are no longer on the truck).

I'm open to reasonable offers.

As I indicated above, this elkie currently has a freshly rebuilt M22 4-speed with a hurst shifter. Likely the only elkie with a 307 mated to a Rock Crusher?

I'm prepared to take $18,500 for the elkie as is with the M22 4-speed. Or, I will swap out the M22 and reinstall the original matching factory Saginaw 3-speed tranny with an aftermarket floor shifter for $15,000. If I can find a good working M20 or M21 4-speed, I'll swap out my M22 and sell the elkie for $15,000 plus the cost of the other 4-speed.

Very nice car,
How is the box floor. Does it have power steering and power brakes?

Thanks, noticed in the pics that power brakes were not there after the question. Sorry.

The boxed frame is MINT!

The Elkie does not have power steering or power brakes.
