Our May feature car belongs to Azi Ali. Azi hails from Arizona and did an excellent job bringing this 1960 Pontiac Parisienne back to light. He employed a few tasteful custom touches while retaining the classic looks of the 1960 Pontiac. Azi tells us more about this cool Poncho:
I have fond memories of all the Parisiennes that my dad drove.I had always planned on acquiring one and restoring it. In 2009, a friend of mine in Edmonton called and said he found a 60 HT or sale. Two weeks later I drove it down to AZ. I believe Sixty wagon Ken saw the car headed south out of AB.
There was a lot of rust to repair but after many months , it was restored to decent condition. I did modify the side because the stainless steel was in bad shape. I installed a new 350, with a turbo 400. I also lowered the car 3.5 inches. The car is painted in the original two tone. I still need to upgrade the brakes to disc. The interior is new but not original and the mirrors are from a 1966.
Yes. I seen it driving and was sad because I went to buy it the year before and didn't have any money for a deposit. The next day I called and they had sold it. .. Glad a Pontiac guy has it though!
Congrats and it looks Great!
