1966 Pontiac Full Size Speed Warning Speedometer

Looking to sell a 1966 Pontiac (I think it is the same as a 1965) Speed warning speedometer with housing and adjusting cable. The speed warning needle moves nice and free. I only have the parts pictured. Looks in good shape, housing is not rusty. I got this from a guy who bought a 66 427 Custom Sport in 1966. He had collected some parts through the years but never used it.  $150.00.

1966 Pontiac Parisienne Speed Warning Speedometer

Well I'll be.....

I never knew such a thing existed in 66. Do you know what it came out of specifically? I am thinking maybe a US car by the look of the back of it? As far as I've ever seen, our Canadian 66 full size models have a printed circuit and this cluster has individual sockets for each bulb.

Here is a picture I found on the internet out of a Catalina showing how the wiring is mounted, Notice there is no printed circuit. I think you might be able to remove the speedometer from this housing and installing this speedo in your housing ?? The second picture is the rear of the speedometer housing I have up for sale. I am open to an offer on this part.

Carl, my old '65 Wildcat had the speed warning speedo as well. I used to set it to 90 so I'd never have to listen to the buzzer go off. 90 was the highest setting, and above 90 you couldn't hear the buzzer anyways.

If Phillip has his heart set on it, go ahead with a sale to him. I don't know when I would ever find time to make use of it anyway!

If he doesn't buy it, I will contact you again about it.

Thanks carl, I would really like to buy it but it turns out I need to buy other parts. I was hoping CP could help me with. I posted in the wanted section but no replies yet.  I would need to save or sell some parts first To buy the speedo too.

I will pm you george. Thank you.

Ok, if you are stepping aside then I will contact George about it.

Thanks Phillip.

I think it would be a pretty cool piece for my Strato some day. I just won't be able to install it any time soon but a part on the shelf for it is just fine too.
