Dont count me out of the race yet. I may borrow the funds and buy it under the business to promote the site. It would be nice to use the car that was the inspiration for Canadian Poncho to help spread the word.
If you buy it back....will you promise to remove all the chrome china crap.....on the motor?
The car is still for sale and my offer has been accepted on the condition that I get it out by Aug 1. I think the seller is moving. Aug 1 is a tall order when you are 2000km away. I'm still nervous about borrowing the money to buy the car even though I can write it off over the next 5 years and the fact I don't have inside storage big enough for the car. I need to make up my mind asap. What to do, what to do...

Sound promising, Todd. I'm thinking even if you got it and couldn't keep it, you would still be able to get your money back out of it, which would pay off the loan and the remaining could go towards supporting the site.
So, what's the next step?
- Have somebody check it out in person?
- Get shipping quotes?
- Calculate how much difference needs to be made up to cover the costs?
- Start a campaign for donations to get a CP representative car!
I'm up for a donation if somebody can get it organized.
I think this would be a good way for us to show Todd our appreciation for all the work he has done to keep this site going, plus it would be good for CP to have a representative car to attend shows, etc., and drum up support for the site.

Geez Todd, I may sound like areal Dad but borrowing money to buy the car is not a great idea. Its a hobby, a toy, if you don't have the cash forget it.
Lots to consider and a short time to do it. I have a line of credit for the business I could use to buy the car. I just hate having debt. Thanks for the offer Urban. If I buy the car I'll take you up on the
offer.
not sure where Caladonia is....or distance involved......But I've used Livingstons..(formerly Sea Rail) several times for shipping cars from Aurora,Ont.....to Vancouver....and was happy with their service...and price...
Can anyone recommend someone trustworthy and affordable to ship the car from Caledon to PEI?
new airline just took flight out of Hamilton with real low rates. Would you consider driving it home?
This could be an option.

I don't think I can get the time off work. We are in the middle of moving our bottling facility and there's quite a bit to do. I suspect I'll be working weekends for a while.
I contacted "ramtrucking.ca". A friend just had his 58 Christine Clone Plymouth shipped and was quite happy.
Prices:
Door to door (prices inc taxes) :$1400
If dropped in New Brunswick before the bridge $900
If dropped in Charlottetown $1100.
Also forgot to mention the car was keyed and has been repainted. Seller says paintjob is "ok" but there is already that rust/bubbling starting.... I HATE not being able to see the car in person and having such a short deadline!

You're going into it knowing it needs paint.....so really...you don't need to sweat about it picking up some "road rash".
The rust and bubbling was already there BEFORE....it was still hiding...when you owned it previously...
Just sit back and enjoy the anticipation of getting your old car BACK.....
