We all know what it's worth........unfortunately, it's what a buyer is willing to pay for it that makes it's true worth.
Exactly. VERY small market for such a car. Maybe it's just me but wouldn't it be prudent for the seller to post some more photos of the car? To find the buyer for this car he needs to cater to folks who could be hundreds of km's away. So, why not post photos of the interior, engine, trunk, underneath etc?

My biggest peeve for any sale. Take some time to show and describe the car or whatever ... it pays off in the end (or answer a million questions later).

This car is very close to me and I've seen it at cruise nights. Good solid, original car but $22,500??? Is that a stick holding up the hood?
Yes, sticky holdy hoody.

Looks like FINE car....but I think...realistically.......10k is prolly MAX $$$ that this car would command.......Canadian Pontiacs are a FRINGE market.....and it would need to be a 2 door at MINIMUM....or a wagon...in that condition to command MORE...
The sellers appears to NOT be in touch with the real market....with an attitude.....to boot....
That will not work well....selling a 4 door...in a fringe market.....JMO

I agree. its funny ( okay annoying ). People say and show little in their ad, then get tired of answering questions!! Show and describe it well and life will be easier.
I think this person is out of touch with the old car market. I have always liked the 49- 52 body styles but that era has a really small market at the present time. Torque tube driveline, 6 vol, 4 door. This guy is in a dream world. $6000 tops for this car and if someone shows the money he better take it. I have always tried to stay neutral when someone has a car for sale but I am tired of some people tryng to take advantage of the uneducated.
This is my view on this car. I recently sold my 50 Catalina Deluxe 2 dr hardtop and I currently have my 51 styleline deluxe 2 dr gasser. I pay attention to the 49-52 cars for sale just to stay informed of the market.
There really are lots of guys buying these 4 dr cars but, the reason they buy them is because they are cheap, with the fender skirts they are an alternative to the 2 dr custom draggers ( low in the rear ). I recently sold the complete, rustfree front suspension from my 51 gasser for $50. The guy that bought it is 20 ish, ex military, with a family living in the country trying to make a living doing body work and fabrication. Quite often these guys have kids and the wife wants a backseat. If I had been asking $250 for the suspension he would never be able to afford it. He had a 49 4 dr that is his rat rod/custom. He throws mexican blankets on the seats, tunes up the 6 cyl and it is good to go. Point is there will always be a market for cheap hobby cars and these 4 dr cars are part of that market.
I do not have a problem with this guy asking his price. He will find that the market for his car is very small at that price.
For another $2500 on top, someone could have my Torpedo back with all the late model 'goodies" + 400 Hp under the hood!!!! Hope he finds a buyer, but he'll soon find out if no ones "bites' he's out to lunch" on price!!!
