http://www.kijiji.ca/v-cars-trucks/truro/1974-chev-pickup-truck/1196988814?enableSearchNavigationFlag=true

The moment many people have been waiting for, the Onslow Belmont Fire Brigade is parting with our beloved Rescue 934.

We are the original owners of this red 1974 Chevy 4x4 pick-up truck with under 34,000 miles on it. It has been well maintained over the years and we have replaced the box, one door and one fender, and new tires were recently bought. It has a 350, 2 barrel with power steering and brakes.

The truck with be auctioned off Saturday, October 1st at our 55th Annual Harvest Sale and Auction, at 8PM.

That is wicked! A little cleaning up and you've got a unusual rig (I always wanted to be a firepersonsmile).

Base level of trim, 3/4 ton, full-time 4wd, should be a 350 4-barrel (2-barrel was only on 1/2 ton 2wd), optional chrome front bumper & hubcaps, rear step bumper, drip rails (new option for 74). It looks pretty solid. I always liked those trucks.

Our town Fire Dept had a 74 GMC Suburban that appeared clean but it bubbled at the wheel opening on the fenders by 1985 and they replaced it. Funny, the 63 Suburban it replaced had the transmission fall out (what kind of maintenance did they pretend to do in my old town?)

 Now's your chance!

Actually if you want something unusual, check out this dorky looking oddball:

ref706front.jpg

One of 11 custom built by Ford of Canada, it is an F600 cab-over-engine chassis-cowl open cab pumper truck with Marmon-Herrington AWD conversion. It looks like a 56 but they built them from 56 through 58 (tilt cabs took over for 57 otherwise)
