1966 Acadian Canso interior door panel retainers

I have two pieces of stainless trim that appear to be the trim at the top of the interior door panels on a 66 Acadian Canso.  The thing that I'm not sure of is my experience with the 62-65 interior door panels is that the top and bottom trim pieces are retainers to hold the panels in place.  These two pieces are not retainers, they look like duct tape on the back side, no holes or retaining lip.  Looks like they were glued on to the door or door panel at the top inside.

These pieces are 43" long and 1/2" wide.

Hard to tell from pic,but does the moulding have a V groove in it? Can post up some pics of what it should look like if you want?

The V groove is on the side that can be seen (shown on left) and the backside is as shown on the right.  I know the reflections make it tough but the pieces are "V" grooved the entire length.  It is just surprising to me that they don't show any means of attachment.  If they do install at the top of the door panel, it must be with adhesive.

Any pictures would be appreciated.

Norm

My top door trim is 41 1/4 and the bottom is 44 long. Does it look like they have been trimmed?Backside should be an inch wider than the face with 5 mounting holes.Ends should also be moulded.

A pillar uses 2 pieces of trim, wide on first that matches up with drip rail then narrow piece that holds weather strip. Roof rail uses the same narrow strip that runs to the back 1/4 window

The two sets of trim I have are the same shape.  One set of two is 43" long and the second set of two are 22 1/2" long.  They are the same width front and back.  They show no signs of being altered unless it was to cover the mounting holes.  That gray on the back side looks just like duct tape but it is hardened.

When you have time could you tell me how long the retainers are in the back seat?

Hard to tell for sure with the seat in but top looks to be around 22" and the bottom around 16.

Thanks, this picture tells me something else I needed to know.  The leading edge of the retainer is curved.  The ones I have are curved so I have the correct ones.

Thanks for all your help,  Norm
