I remember back in 1977 at Dragway Park, Cayuga watching the bracket racing. There was a 71 Olds Vista Cruiser with big tires out back and a 455 torque monster up front. I don't remember what it ran but consistency was the name of the game in bracket racing. Probably had great ballast over the back end with that vista roof glass. It just would have been an ubiquitous 6-year-old car back then.
Somewhere I have a Popular Hot Rodding magazine from 1972 that road tested a new 72 Vista Cruiser. Remember that a nice tow vehicle would have been of interest to the racing crowd. As was the custom for that an a few other magazines of the day, they customized it. They put on a class III hitch, polished dished aluminum Ansen Sprint 5-slots with black wall radials, fog lights, then put it through its paces. They would always put mags on any musclecar they tested as well.

a friend of mine picked a 1972 nicely loaded with 455. from East Town Chevrolet Put on a ton of miles and traded on a 76 Holiday with guess what; another 455
I saw this car at a car show in Berwick Nova Scotia in September. Owner said he brought it from Winnipeg when he moved to NS. I did not look underneath it but the car was in very good condition in the body and interior. It didn't have a for sale sign at the time, otherwise I would have looked at it even more closely. It was very nice.
