I think "Wolfballer" is our member here, 63gpman, from Minnesota. Pretty sure.

Beautiful items, wish they were mine. Too bad about the exchange rate, I'd love to have the 65 unit.

So are these also what was found on the Canadian models? Or US only.

Both Canadian and US. In Canada, it was standard equipment on 4 speed cars, I suspect the same on US cars. Optional on all others and also available over the counter as an accessory.

So true Mike, and it does not include the mounting bracket.

Yes these are mine and I get it they are pricy, but please understand a few things. Epay takes about 13% between the epay selling fee and the paypal fee so that brings the net price to me down to $750. That is the price I would take outside of pay. Now please understand this. You may find some for $300-$400 w/out a cup or $500-$600 with a cup, but these have been thoroughly gone through by a professional for an average price of $175 each. The last thing that I will say is that I have purchased some from ebay and other places and ended up getting burned because the movement on them was junk and there is no fixing a broken movement on these. Great way to throw $400 away quick.

Anyway, I do have these for sale, they are guaranteed, I will stand behind them and the price is $750 outside of epay.

Let me know if you have any questions!!

On 65-66 full size, there is no mount bracket like there is on a 63 or a 64. You simply drill holes into the dash panel. The Shop manual actually has a diagram for where to drill the holes and what size holes to drill. You can find the 63-64 tachs much easier than the 65-66 ones.

No disrespect intended, my apologies (note: edited heading).

The price is justified without a doubt as they are beautifully remanufacured / restored for lack of a better description. The costs associated in the restoration must be paid by someone, one less step for the end user :)

Very kind of you to offer them here void of the sale site premiums, hopefully someone here is in need, again very very nice items.

Still wishing the 65 was mine.. the one I have doesn't hold a candle to it.

All the best

Tony

No problem. I seriously understand. The price is crazy, but is what the market holds for them in restored condition. In the last 3 years I have sold 15 of these tachs that I have had restored. Some of them I have done ok on but have been burned a few times on purchases also. I have had to purchase 19 to have 15 good ones. If anyone wants one that does not work, I have 4 bad ones I would sell ;) My price of $750 is in line though. $300 for a tach, $200 for a cup and $175 to have it gone through = $675. My time sanding and polishing the lenses, painting the needles and taking the chance on non-working ones. Anyway, the markup on doing this is not a huge deal, but I like them and enjoy making them what they are.

P.S. if anyone has working 65-66 tachs they want to sell, I am a buyer. Also, I am always up for trades. 66 full size lower trim, US steering wheels, US 4 speed parts. and so on.

The 65 tach w/out the redline sold on ebay. I still have the 66 tach listed. The redline 66 tach is correct for late 65 or all 66. Some say that May 65 was about the time when they changed from no redline to redline so if you have a late 65 car, this would still be correct. Similar to 65 GTO getting a redline late in production. That being said, depending on how many they had in inventory at each plant would determine when they started using the redline as they likely continued to use the earlier design till they were all used up. Somewhat speculation on that, but sounds like a decent theory and has been discussed with some GM line workers that agree.
