Post your store bargains/deals here (for shop or car). Let us know where the deals are.

Noticed a few of us have posted about a sale items we have purchased, so I thought I would start a thread. If you find a great price on a shop/garage/car item let us know since were all upgrading/building our cars and shop/tool supply. Just went to Rona which has been bought out by Lowes and they are selling off all the Rona name band supplies. So I picked up two  1/2 hp garage door openers for 40.00 ea (1 with 10' extension) and a 50lb box of 3" nails for my nail gun for 8.00. Just nice to save a buck! If you need an opener, should be able to read the part # off my receipt

Canadian Tire had a sale on these drill bits for drilling in tight spots, around corners. (I learned my lesson on buying bits from them)

Think they were bought out about a year ago, just getting to switch over names in the next 6 months. As far as I know it was all across Canada. Some good deals to be had before they become Lowes.

 Yes. SPK and Dormer also.

I recently bought a Drill Doctor half price @ Crapbox Tire. I'm sharpening my own bits up to 1/2".

The Bay is running one day sales on selected merchandise all Christmas season. Here in Toronto. Liz Rodbell,  the President announces the sale on radio ad each morning, it also appears in the paper. For example yesterday was 70% off all gold and pearl jewelry so I stopped in and even though I spent $300 I got jewelry that retails regular for $1,000. My girls are going to be happy Christmas morning. Today it was Calvin Klein dress shirts for $19.99 which was a $60 saving. I made sure to text my daughter. The deals are all smoking so well worth listening for or grabbing the morning paper.

I have a similar winch and have used it many times. I bought a hitch mount for mine. Last year my truck got hopelessly stuck in the snow. I mounted the winch on the rear receiver and used a spare battery to operate it. I wrapped the cable around a tree which was about 30 feet away. Pulled it out no problem. It's normally mounted to my front reciever. I have since run heavy guage fused wire from the battery to the rear to eliminate the need to use a second battery if mounted on the rear of the truck.

That's interesting.  Our Rona stores became Lowe's about 5 years ago, but within the last year became Rona+ stores.

The Rona stores that were originally Totem stayed Rona throughout the change to Lowe's, and continue to be Rona (no +).

Geeez Carl - don't you know you have to use a 90* drill for these type of bits no.
