Hello all motor heads.I am building a early 327 with # 462 casting cyl. heads.Staying with 1.94 intakes and 1.50 exhausts.Using KB flat top cast pistons and .030 overbore.Need to know approximate compression ratio with this combo.Thanks K.N.
Yes, getting close to the edge if you want to run regular fuel. The engine gurus here will correct me if I'm wrong but I think running a bit longer duration camshaft helps you cheat a bit with higher compression.

Thanks for help.I don't know what the cc's are on these.Read two publicaions on Chevy smallblocks and one said they were approx. 58 cc and other said 64.I was hoping to end up with 10-1.Don't mind buying premium,so I thought I could go to 10.5-1 .I drive like an old man and would seldom put my foot into it.P.S. The engine is a 1965 vintage, if that helps. KN
I run 10.7 to 11.5 on regular gas, crapgas what ever you call it.the carb heads and cam all have to match then no problem, and I don't drive like a old man, the jimmys got a 406 in it with a real 10.3 compression and runs all the way to 220klics with not a ping
a simple quad modified of course, a farely small .500 lift roller cam stock cast manifolds for a 77 and crappy 882 heads, if you want all the specs I can give them to you, the speed shop figure close too 500 horse, and that's through a automatic with a tight torque. ive got specs for a 420 horse 327 that get 25 27 mpg
