Hi From Alberta just joining... we.. my dad, and I and my little brother built a tubbed 66 parisienne street/strip car.

Hi my name is Mitchel, I am 18, I love muscle cars, welding and mechanics, When I was 14 I bought my first car for $800, It was a 1966 Pontiac parisienne that was rough.  But I thought it would be a beautiful hot rod...My dad said are you sure you want to build this car because Pontiacs are hard to get sheet metal for,  I said yes.  So 3 1/2 years latter...

Its finally finished in Oct 2016.   There is a link to a video of the car, I think it sounds pretty mean.  We had to get 3 other parts cars to build one good one, tons of fabricating too.

We completely rebuilt/restored the entire car, literally every screw, nut and bolt. plus disassembled and sliced up 3 others to do our build. We did everything ourselves in two little garages on our land... every thing except the block machining.  My dad used to do engine machining but no longer does so we sent that out. But we built the engine ourselves.

We also sectioned and tubbed the trunk floor to look like stock to gain 3 1/2 inches wheel clearance per side, plus rolled the wheel wells and slightly flared the body at wheel openings to give 4 1/4 inches more width for wheels out back, also we shaved the bulge in the frame at the rear coils so we clear can 295 65r15 Mickey Thompson ET street radials out back, 255s up front. Torq Thrust 15x8.5 front and back

we built a 4 point roll bar with removable cross bar, bride racing seats, RCI 5 point harness, 10,000 rpm tac but otherwise restored to a stock interior including rear seat and belts even tho it is tubbed,

413 sbc 577hp at 6300 545ft lbs at 5100. We used a lot of great parts, started with a 400 sbc 4 bolt main and bored it to 4.185, line honed, decked, smoothed, relieved and partially filled the block as a starting point for our build. all forged internals and performance world 200cc heads which dad further ported and shaped.

TCI 700r4 with 3800ish rpm TCI Super Street Fighter converter

12 bolt, 4.56:1 gears, super tight Eaton posi with custom clutches and 800lb springs, ford 9" axle ends and custom axles, diff narrowed 1 inch (we did all machine work including lathing and welding on the axle bearing retainer ends), boxed control arms, adjustable pan hard bar, poly bushings, all new suspension and steering components, adjustable racing shocks front springs clipped 1 coil. C3 Corvette rotors, custom brackets and spindle mods, C10 calipers, Performance world Line Lock, Proportioning valve, and Hydraulic E Brake. Hydroboost and corvette master (we went with hydroboost because we have a very aggressive solid lifter cam and have little vacuum),  It works awesome.

The paint is shirwin williams, barret jackson, hot rod red

Lots more, We built it to be a 1/4 mile car capable of 11s and mabey 10s in the future so it has the roll bar and harnesses, trunk mount battery and kill switch, missile switches for ignition kill etc, fire extinguisher and all that. We have installed a rev limiter on it that saves the engine but also is a safety till i learn to run it at the track and on the street because it has a lot of power and low gears.

Thanks for the site and the opportunity to share our experiences and learn from others,  I hope to keep preserving this car and building others too with my dad and brother.

I will post some pictures of our build.

Here is a link to a video of my car I hope it works if not mabey copy and paste.

Welcome to CP. Just watched your vid. That is 1 killer 1st car!!! Good to see you have the appreciation for the old classics, seems the younger the gen the less interest. Sounds like you took the bull by the horns(with dads help) and already know and are a lot more informed in the hobby than guys twice your age. Good on you! Congrats, you guys have built one great looking/sounding Parisienne! Glad my son(16) has the same interest in old cars as you, although his 66 Acadian wont be quite as "sick"(young guys lingo).wink

Why would anyone want Ludacris horsepower in a 66 B Body?

Now I know how to take a "screen shot" off a video     1. Run the video   2. press pause  3.  press Command and Shift and 3        probably work better in full screen   I'll try that

Oh it worked I posted pics on members rides, i think there are a few upside down pics but i will edit those. I tried to keep it down to not too many pics, we have so many of each phase that I pretty much put on the ones that loaded first for each section.

Thanks,  We are hoping to have fun with it this spring.  The engine is built to handle some nitrous, but we will only put on like a 150 shot later mostly for trying to get wheels up biggrin.  But that is a ways away, I still have to learn all about racing and launching and getting the car dialed the way it is first.

harness try out (9).jpgharness try out (8).jpg

Thanks alot for all the positive feed back,  But everyone has cool rides in this forum, tones of interesting ideas and knowledge.  Here is a couple interior pics with the harnesses and safety switches and stuff.  Still have to wire in the Nitrous Controller wires later thats why the white wires on the floor. no rush on that.  and you probably will recognize that the steering wheel is from my dads 71 chevelle project, so its on loan till i find something to replace it, but i actually think its a super nice wheel.  I will add these to my member ride pics too...We had 3 feet of snow overnight here so no work today
