68 Grande Parisienne driver side window

With Todd's blessing to list this part, I am offering up this 68 Grande Parisienne driver side window for sale.  It is a clear window, however it does have a chip at the top of the window.  The single roller is a bit loose but the sliding roller at the back of the window is tight.  There is a small chip in the top of the window that hopefully is shown clearly in the photos.  The 68's had the "Astro Ventilation" monogramed at the front of the window and this window "does not" have that monogram.  It appears that it must have been changed out at some point in time.  $20 if someone can use it, I am looking for someone can hopefully utilize it and I am flexible on the price.  I was able to find an original window with the "Astro Ventilation" monogram from TinMan which made this one dispensable.

I wonder if that would be the same as a 69 & 70 2 dr hdtp.

I am not entirely sure if it the same as a 69 / 70 2 door hard top.  I did find a replacement window through Metro, part # DD3837 that Metro indicated would be the correct window by the car's production plate.  But when I found the replacement window from TinMan, I jumped at it as it was original correct that had the Astro ventilation monogram.

So, that is a good question, can we get any input from the forum on whether this window would fit the 69 / 70 2 dr htp?

Earl, have you installed it already? I'm assuming so because you have the other one up for sale?

At any rate, I learned a couple of new things looking this up.

1) The door glass on a 68 Grande Parisienne 2 door hardtop appears to be completely unique according to the GM parts books. No interchange with Chevrolet at least.

2) The door glass on a 69 Parisienne 2 door hardtop or convertible is different on a power window car vs a manual window car. Any of you 69 guys know why this would be? Obviously it has to do with the attachment of mechanism?

The CP B body MPC glass listing resides in the Library on this site.

Here's a partial door glass listing from that post. Cross reference and see what numbers match. One interesting fact is that as of 65, all door glass became curved, hence the dual part numbers for the left and right sides.

Thanks for posting that page Mark.

For those who don't know, model 766 is the Grande Parisienne, 87 is the 2 door hardtop on a Grande.

Well, there we have it! Thx for bringing this information to light and directing newbies like myself to the library for future reference!! It sure is a great resource for sleuthing out info such as this and appreciate the input!

Carl, yes indeed the window is installed already, when the weather was nice and warm in Wpg! The window for sale has been in the garage, wrapped up taking up space as although it has a chip, I thought perhaps someone might be able to use it and didn't have the heart to toss it. Hence, affordable flexible pricing! :)

I am good for coffee next week, I am going to show up in a F150 although as the GP is away for the winter! Let me know what you have in mind, weekends are always good but weekdays can work as well. Just PM me and we can discuss.

Thx,

Jake

This may or may not be true but I heard some 68 Impala fast backs had the Astro vent glass in the US , rare but might be true ... anyways this glass fits on the 68 Impala fast backs only for guys wanting to delete there vent window and the good old Canadians have the glass if it's from a 68 Grand Parisienne 2 door fast back .
Shame its chipped but i'm sure it would be a good find for someone !
